and now I am really glad

One day, he was at Waldbums ( supermarket , now called King Kullen) and he found Betty and Veronica Double Digest #132 and brought it for me, something to read at home. I liked it soo much, that I read it to pieces, and finally, the cover came off ( yea, it was the only one I had..thats why, I read it over and over and over) and soon he brought me #134 ( apparently it was a while after, so I never got #133, until this year, I found it at a discount book store, for 95 cents..

So yea, thats how I started getting into Archie comics , thanks to my dad =]

but what really disgusts me is that, apparently my neighbor Veronica ( yea, apparently her uncle brought her Veronica Comics, cause they had the same name) and i remember reading them before i got my Betty and Veronica double digest #132.. but now.. she thinks I got into Archie Comics because she had them first.. but i got my issue 2 months after i read the Veronica Comics at her home.. and my dad never goes to my neighbors house.. so he didn't know either

but still, I blame my dad =)

and I love him alot for it =)

but I did love comics before Archie.. the first comics I ever read were Peanuts, cause my parents had old issues lying around the house from when they were little and b4 I was born.. So yea, I decided to expand my love for comics after I found out about Archie comics.. apparently, I never expected to love Archie comics as much as I do today..  but I'm glad I do

As for how I got into Archie comics, around February or so, one of my camp mates left four old issues of Jughead's Double Digest lying around in my Company's office. At this point, I have yet to read a single issue of an Archie comic as, like tiff mentioned as well, I felt I was too cool for them. Eventually, I picked up one of them to see what the big fuss was about and, voila! The rest is history.

Even though I'll continue reading them, I'll admit that in the short run, Archie Comics provide a great and welcome distraction from military life.

wow, I guess we have alot in common then

I think my first Archie Comic I got at an elementary school Summer carnival. It was a prize at some game booth. I was more into Superman at that age, but I had it so I read it and HEY! It was fun. I think it had a story about Betty baking an apple pie, at Jughead's suggestion, to try and get Archie's attention. Of course, at the moment of truth, Veronica walks by and distracts Archie from Betty and her tasty pie. Betty ends up giving the pie to Jughead...I think he planned the whole thing.  After that I think my Grandmother bought me a few Archie comics,as well as Harvey Titles like Casper and Hot Stuff, probably thinking that they were better for a ten year old than Superman or Batman. The truth is, I still like all kind sof comics.

I can't remember my first Archie comic as kid, although it probably coincided with their cartoon show in the early '70s. But after a 35 year absence, I started buying them again. You could say that Jerry Bails got me into Archies again! :>)
