Title: Archie circle logo
Post by: Spellman on April 15, 2017, 12:39:39 PM
Hello, I'm new here. I was hoping that someone who collects older Archie titles might be able to help me. I recently bought a small lot of titles from the early 70's, and some of them had a circle logo, rather than the typical rectangle in the corner. I looked on the first page, but there isn't anything that seems to indicate that it's an international edition and all of the advertisements have U.S. addresses on them. Can anyone tell me where these are from? Thanks.

Archie changed to the circle logo in 1973 and that lasted for a year until they changed it again in 1974.  That logo lasted until 1982 when it was changed again.  Comic book companies seem to like changing their logos from time to time.  DC has done it quite a few times.

Rusty,
Thanks for the history lesson! I didn't know that, and it's crazy that I've never stumbled upon some of those issues before.
Cheers!
