THANK YOU, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, for making Archie x Miss Grundy canon!

This is the official thank you thread for Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, creative genius and script writing scribe of immeasurable talent who is apparently behind the idea to change Miss Grundy into a hot babe so Archie can have a sexual adult relationship with her!

For over 70 years, fans of Archie Comics have asked themselves, Betty or Veronica?  Who should Archie choose?  However, one brave soul, a screen writing legend behind such Citizen Kane-esque masterpieces as random Glee episodes and the 15th remake of Carrie, was asking the real question everyone really wanted addressed.  Why can't Miss Grundy be hot, and why can't Archie have sex with her in a TV program?

This idea festered in Roberto's head for nearly three decades after he read one Archie Comics digest, the only Archie Comic he ever read, until the idea for a daring new television program was formed!  Who knows how many Golden Globes this incredible television series will win?  I'm going to say if it doesn't win at least 20, there will be outrage and riots in the streets!

Regardless, I'd like to thank Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa for his excelent contribution to Archie Comics lore, that Archie had a sexual relatioship with Miss Grundy before either Betty or Veronica.  Thank God that Archie CEO Jon Goldwater made Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa chief creative officer for the entire company, because this is a man who knows what he's doing!

I say we all give three cheers for screenwriting legend Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa!

Huzzah!
Huzzah!
Huzzah!

May your legend and immense talent continue to grow and brighten the lives of all!

What, no The Town That Dreaded Sundown?

(Really, as an aside to anyone reading this who thinks AwA is a masterpiece, watch that film. It's amazing how trite the whole "small town with creepy secrets and bloody killings" premise is when the characters aren't named Archie, Betty, Veronica, etc.)

Isn't he the Chief Operating Officer now?

There's a great old story where Miss Grundy swoons because Archie kisses her cheek. Of course, she didn't look like Sara Habel so it was actually funny.

Maybe if we lobby for Veronica/Mr. Weatherbee at the same time.

The Twitter account I have was for something else and I don't use it anymore (I just read Milo Yiannopoulos's twitter feed which I have bookmarked  :2funny: ), but someone else should do that surely.  XD

But seriously, I do agree with the sentiment behind this thread, and I can't understand why Archie is allowing Aguirre-Sacasa to take the property in a direction that will probably hurt the company in the long run by fooling people into thinking the squeaky clean old Archie is boring.

old_jughead

I hope this show is as trashy as it's being made out to be. I hope they go all out and make it a trashy, sexy, scandalous teen drama instead of holding back if they are not going to make it close to the comics (which they aren't).

Because the current CEO, at least the one in control, doesn't like the comics either.  He ran them down as moldy and olfashioned in a press blurb before they dumped the house style.  But apparently, he knows what's best for us fans!

Also I think we need three more cheers for writing legend Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa for changing Jughead from a food fanatic to a coffee fiend!

Wait--this ISN'T a belated April Fool's Day joke?! Seriously?! :( They have lost their minds if this is true! What is WRONG with these people?! >:(

What does this topic mean Archie x Ms. Gundy? Does it mean he loves her.
They're going to be having an affair in the Rivderdale pilot.
BettyReggie

That's awesome. I can't wait to see it. Are Betty & Veronica going walk on them going at it?

swiss watch

If they do, they'll probably just shrug because that's the status quo in Riverdale. Moose is going to have a 'soft spot for milfs.' Reggie asks Archie if he 'tapped any milf ass this summer.' I'd be amazed if Jughead isn't in on it too.

Someone in the Riverdale thread said something about Archie Comics wondering what they would do if the show doesn't succeed, but how will it help if it does succeed? This show is so different from their backlog of stories and even from the reboot, there won't be many new crossover fans from tv, if there ever are many for shows based on comics. And what about when the show ends in, at the most, seven years?

I don't think it will get picked up for a full season.  They're probably banking on the comic book TV trend, but that's a super hero trend.  If it does, yes, you're correct, the benefit for the IP overall is definitely negative.  If they made Roberto "Chief Operating Officer" like you said, that is really bewildering to me if these are his "awesome" ideas.  If Archie was a public company, they probably would have taken it away from current management at this point.

I really hate the thought of the of this becoming a show.  Let's hope not, and to Roberto I say, stick to drawing rule 34.
