Oldiesmann: December solicitations are out. One holiday special, one facsimile edition and a single digest. I wonder if this is the new normal or if they plan to go back to releasing multiple digests each month

I recently decided to check out this show and first went to Netflix to watch season 1 and then caught up with season 2 with my On Demand and the CW app.  It's really a great show even though it completely twists all the Archie characters.  I actually think they could have done this show without the Archie skin and used completely original characters and locations.

As a long, long time Archie comics fan, there's one thing in the series that makes me really sad.  I'm a HUGE Archie and Betty shipper and it upset me how Betty got completely friendzoned by Archie in the first episode.  And then they paired Betty with Jughead (still really unsure how I feel about that, lol) and of course Archie and Veronica.  I really wanted to see Betty and Archie as a couple, especially after seeing what a fantastic Betty that Lili Reinhart is.  She's really amazing and perfectly how I always pictured Betty would be IRL.

My favorite Archie comic ever was the Archie Marries Betty branch of the Life With Archie marriage series.  I've never been happier reading Archie comics.  It was such a great story and I didn't want it to ever end.  I love Archie and Betty as a couple and have always rooted for Betty in my long relationship with Archie comics.

I still hope to see them as a couple, even if it's just for a little while, at some point in this series.  I think the writers gave us Betty/Archie fans a little hope when Kevin remarked that Betty and Archie are "endgame" in the first episode.  Maybe they are planning that for whenever they end the series.

And also, I've also though Veronica and Jughead would make a good and especially interesting couple.  In all my years of reading the comics, I've always felt that they may have secret feelings for each other.  IIRC, I think they even kissed a few times over the years.  I kinda wanted to see that happen in Archie marries Betty, instead of Veronica going with Reggie and Jug with Midge.  That would have made the series even better for me.
