We had a similat, but regional, chain that was only in New York and Connecticut I think, called Caldor's, they covered the same portion of the market. We had expensive. sorta hi.

The last I heard, DC still had some newsstand and I presume ACP's comic books would have some too.

Current artists you'd like to see working for Archie

Aside from the obvious Fernando, Dan etc, which current artists would you like to see working on new Archie material?

I think Bruce Timm and Darwyn Cooke could output some awesome Archie material in their own styles that wouldn't stray too far from the classic house style.

Also, how about Bill Watterson from Calvin & Hobbes fame working on Little Archie?

I can dream, can't I?

Well, how about J. Bone then? Wait... that would really happen if they actually decided to publish KEVIN IN THE CITY. I guess we can probably rule it out then, along with those other sensible suggestions. Up at ACP they seem to believe that the more idiotic the idea, the more likely ONE of those has got to be some kind of monster hit, and anything that seems the least bit sensible is not only dicey, but probably not affordable either.

JonInIowaCity

How about Mike Norton? He did this great Pughead commission for me back in 2014!

Well, I'm sure if there's another issue where Salem turns the whole gang into animals again, he'll be first in line as the fill-in artist to draw it.

BettyReggie

Thomas Pitilli who did my Reggie commission for me. He did a awesome Archie cover & the most recent Jughead issue. He is awesome, I hope he does more covers.

Great Gazoo

How about Tim & Pat Kennedy? I have always liked there work or have they also been shown the door by ACP?

If I'm not mistaken Fernando Ruiz said the only one still left is Dan Parent, so everybody else is gone :(

Yep. Dan is the last man standing.

The rest of us have been... Well, Archie refuses to admit that any of us have been fired or even "let go."

Amongst ourselves, we often joke sarcastically that we're all "on hiatus." Archie seems to like that word.

They certainly do. They also love using the term delays as well. They have a lot of experience with that. :)

Great Gazoo

To be honest if it was me and I was treated that way by a company I dedicated many years of service to and if they would decide to go back to the Classic Archie Style after the rebooted series is cancelled(and we can all see the writing on the wall that the series will not last decades). I would tell them to stick it.

irishmoxie

I would love to see a more manga inspired Archie from artists such as Shouri and Gisele. I'd like to see some of the Jem and the holograms' artists such as Sophie Campbell and Jen Bartel.
