I was just reading over the Archie "choose-your-own-adventure" story I started writing online several years back, and I came across this part:


What's the point, you think yourself, life as I know it is over... there's no happiness to be found living in Riverdale.
A knock at your bedroom door interrupts you from your miseable thoughts, and your mother asks to come in. You respond with a gloomy "whatever"."You know, Stanley," your mother says as she peeks her head through the door, "I was seventeen once, too. Things may seem hard to you now, but you'll survive. Life goes on.""Well," you reply with a mumble, "I miss my friends... and there's nothing to do here.""Then it's time to make new friends. I'm sure there are plenty of nice kids your age living in Riverdale.""Yeah, well," you pause momentarily, "...well, they can't replace Fernando and Dan. They can't replace Gisele and-"

I miss Fernando, Dan and Gisele. Maybe somebody wants to motivate me to finish it?

I'd like to see the rest of it.

Well, they can and have tried to replace them with "plenty of nice kids"... and while those nice kids have to make a living too, that doesn't mean I'll necessarily want to read whatever comic book they produce for Archie Comics. But I'm sure they're still nice kids and all.
