As we know Archie Comics has had a long run and is now into it's eighth decade.  Which decades are your favorites?

It'd be interesting to know what you think are the high or low points of any particular decade and why you voted for some over others.

For me, the acme came with the 60's.  ACP entered the decade with a tremendous stable of creators, some of the best covers(particularly Pep, B&V, and Jughead), Bob Bolling still going strong on Little Archie, and Frank Doyle and George Gladir both writing towards arguably their peak within just a few years.  We saw the launch of Josie(one of the two or three best series of the 60's imo), followed by Sabrina and stories featuring the gang with super powers as well as Man From R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E.. By mid-decade the writers were adding more story elements beyond dating and school hijinks and incorporating real world social issues and current trends as never before.  To that end, DeCarlo was always keen on the fashion element with the teen girls, but now we had artist's Lucey and Hartley(in particular) showing the characters dressed in contemporary youth clothing and hairstyles, with the boys included as well.

Lest I forget, Bingo (Sam and crew) and Valerie also came along before that decades end.

I love the 80's up til now. I love Archie 3000 & Betty's Diary & Betty & Me & Little Archie which came out in the 80's. The solo titles of Betty & Veronica & Cheryl Blossom  which were out 90's -00's. In late 2000's Life With Archie the one where Archie married both Betty & Veronica. But I really love this reboot of Archie & B & V & Jughead in 2016.

Speaking strictly for Archie himself as a character and the core group, it's got to be the decade from 1955-1965. That's when the team of Frank Doyle and Harry Lucey were really cooking on all burners for the core Archie stories, you had Samm Schwartz on Jughead (his prime period), plus others like Bill Vigoda, and after 1958 DeCarlo really started to come on strong with B&V.

For the company as a whole though, I'd go with 1965-1975. In that decade you had some of the best Betty & Veronica stories, plus Josie, Sabrina, That Wilkin Boy, and the Madhouse Glads in their own comics.

80s/90s for me but I think it's mostly due to nostalgia. Plus I love all the pop cultural references in those.

I voted 60's. That decade, to me, had the funniest stories and the best artwork. The 60's were the golden age of Archie comics.

The 1950s seem prime to me, for personal reasons.

It's the '60s through the '70s for me. The late '50s were pretty good, too.

REGGIE had his own title in the early 1950s (briefly), and then again for another 20 years, from the early 1960s through the early 1980s.

Makes me wonder why they didn't release an archive of the 60s like they did for the 70s on those cd-roms.

They planned to. There was even a mockup of "The Silver Age Collection" included on the packaging with the tagline "Coming Soon". Poor sales of the Bronze Age Collections probably killed it, or maybe it had something to do with the launch of Archie Digital around the time after the first group of CD-ROMs came out.

I would have to say the 70's. There seemed to be so much going on in the comics in the 70's for Archie Comics. Not only were the stories and artwork great, but all the little extra stuff in there was a lot of fun as well.
