ARCHIE #1 FCBD 2016 EDITION #1

I'm hoping to pick up the Boom Comics one eventually. I probably won't go on FCBD though.

You can get it from www.midtowncomics.com  but I didn't see it on the web site yet. The crowds at that Forbidden Planet would be too much for me to handle because I will be in my power chair so I'll skip it.

I will be going to my local comic book shop on saturday when the store opens. I want to make sure Archie #1 is still in stock. I might buy some myself too they had some older issues last year for $3

Veronica Fish drew a 1 page Betty Cooper 'story' for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund free comic.  It really is just encouraging people to visit libraries, but it does feature an Archie character.  The CBLDF comic last year had Kevin Keller in it if I am remembering correctly.

My free comics arrived last week from my comic shop, though I still plan to visit a few shops to see what sales they have.  I've spent quite a bit at a couple of shops the last two years.

A free copy of ARCHIE #1 doesn't interest me any more than it did last year at $3.99. Nor do any of the prior SONIC FCBD giveways (unless they are flipbooks with MEGA MAN on the opposite side).

However, now FCBD (and Jonathan's review on last Saturday's Riverdale Podcast) is making me think of ordering some of those older classic Archie FCBD giveaways that I missed (and the smaller, Halloween ComicFest ones, too).

Here's a list of those Archie FCBD comics (I haven't included any of the SONIC giveaways). There was no classic Archie giveaway for FCBD 2012 or 2015.

I have the Halloween themed one which has a pretty cute story. I've been wanting to get the Sabrina/Sonic one which I believe was their 1st FCBD but it's always expensive on eBay.

I haven't decided if I'm going to participate in FCBD this year since I already have Archie #1 and still have lots of other Archie comics I haven't read yet.

I went. I got Archie #1, Help the CBLDF Defend Comics, Love and Rockets, and Grumpy Cat (and Pokey!).

I PAID for Archies Jokes #471, Laugh #339, Laugh #328 Archie & Me #103, and Archie's Joke Book #238. This was all together $15 with 20% off. It was the only 5 older issues they had too.

Midtowncomics is going have those comics for free on their website on the 9th. I definitely want the Archie #1 & Love & Rockets. I love Love & Rockets, I have one of the books.
