  • DeCarlo Rules: Oh, the irony~! The proposed superhero revival that was too dark and edgy for ACP in 1989 (Spectrum Comics) had to wait 25 to get published (as Dark Circle)... and by then it was "Been there, done that. Nobody cares." I only hope their take-away from lack of response to all the dark superheroes is to make the new Mighty Crusaders title into a fun action-adventure comic book.

  • Vegan Jughead: Yes Mark.  192 pages.  Jumbos are 256, which was reduced from 288, which was reduced from 320.  The price continues to rise of course.  If you subscribe all issues are the same price.  I know you've had issues with subscriptions, though.

  • DeCarlo Rules: Definitely. I was a little worried when there was no B&V Friends solicitation for November... that means only 5 issues came out this year, instead of 6 -- but since you got a renewal notice, and there's an issue solicited for December, it looks like it will continue!  :)

  • DeCarlo Rules: I just got email confirmation from the ACP subscription department... not only is JUGHEAD AND ARCHIE digest ending, but ARCHIE'S FUNHOUSE digest is ending as well. Both subscriptions are automatically switched to the new ARCHIE AND ME digest, unless a subscriber requests a different digest title. No word on B&V FRIENDS digest so far; here's hoping "no news is good news" in this case.

Dang it.

You got me all excited for nothing. I was thinking more like Batman the Animated Series meets B&V "classic"...

Aww....  :(

BettyReggie

I'm really looking forward to this . I had some Harley Quinn issues they were ok. But then I gave them to the Thift Store. I did save the one about her at SDCC. And that one where you can see her in a Wedding Dress on the cover.

Yes.
I say "yes".

Isn't Cheryl Blossom basically just Poison Ivy without the plant-powers anyway?  ;D

If they're doing a superhero crossover, I'd like to see a gritty reboot of (Netflix) The Punisher Meets (WB) Archie  ;D

More like The Punisher Meets Afterlife With Archie. I'm thinking lots of head shots. Quickest way to take down a zombie.

Free college tuition for all Riverdale residents?! That’s the plan—after the town drains the wetlands that lie between it and Gotham City and then builds a new campus. The only snag? A certain botany-obsessed super-villain. When Poison Ivy enlists her bestie, Harley, to kidnap both Veronica Lodge, daughter of Riverdale’s most important citizen, and her friend Betty, she’s counting on some assistance—and the mayhem that ensues will probably work as well!
DC Comics and Archie are proud to present the adventure of a lifetime for all these best pals. Their hijinks are brought to you by the real-life team-up of Paul Dini (HARLEY QUINN) and Marc Andreyko (WONDER WOMAN ’77), with art by Laura Braga (DC BOMBSHELLS)!

There will be a shorter gap in publication between Adam Hughes' B&V #3 and Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica #1 than there was between #1 and #2 (or #2 and #3) of Adam Hughes' B&V, but just to maintain some continuity there's that variant cover of Harley & Ivy Meet Betty & Veronica #1 by Adam Hughes.

Please be Harley in classic costume...please be Harley in classic costume...

...

Dang it.

But besides the horrible costume that I don't get why anyone likes, you do have Dini helping with Quinn and Ivy and the art looks good from the cover. So this should be fun. :)

DeCarlo Rules

Too bad they couldn't get Amanda Connor to do the interior art (or better yet, Bruce Timm). Laura Braga's artwork on DC BOMBSHELLS didn't impress me. The original DC Direct merchandising concept was built around the idea of 1940s-style pinup/cheesecake/"good girl art" (sexy, yet still wholesome, not unlike Dan DeCarlo's early art) versions of the more popular DC superheroines, but Braga's comic book adaptation version of that concept was anything but.

The idea of a crossover between the 2 popular Batman villainesses and B&V would seem to be based on the same potential showcase for "good girl art", so the choice of Braga as interior artist is a disappointment, as is the fact that neither company is going with the "classic" (aka cartoon) versions of those characters. They seem to be willing to tease that GGA idea only so far as in having covers drawn by Amanda Conner and Adam Hughes, in order to insure better sales than a cover drawn by Laura Braga. I might buy it if they offer a blank sketch cover, which would allow me the potential of commissioning a drawing by a more appropriate artist.

📚 I preordered Harley & Ivy Meet Betty& Veronica#1 from Midtown Comics. I'm really looking forward to it.

DeCarlo Rules

On the plus side, now that the two companies are working together, the way is finally clear for that Scooby-Doo Meets Archie crossover.
