Josie and the Pussycats #1 variant by Derek Charm

Josie and the Pussycats #1 variant by Colleen Coover

Josie and the Pussycats #1 variant by Alitha Martinez

I like Derek Charm's (love the cat) and Alitha Martinez's the best out of these 3.

According to Archie Comics, the new series will feature Josie uniting the band to take their big shot at musical stardom, only to contend with the machinations of Alexandra Cabot, the ever-Machiavellian daughter of the Pussycats' manager.

Alex and Alexandra's dad is the manager now? Where does that leave Alex?

That's what I was thinking.

I'm guessing either 1) Alex will come later or be picked as manager later (like Mr. Cabot/Pussycats will give the position to Alex instead of Alexandra), or 2) the summary meant that Mr. Cabot put up the funds for the Pussycats (like in the original comics) so he is technically in charge.

I can't see them leaving Alex out all together. Breaking up the Cabot twin terrors would be blasphemy lol

OMG, Shonen Knife reference! "Tortoise brand pot cleaner. Specially selected pot cleaner. The best pot cleaner in the world is specially selected Tortoise brand!"

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this series (even though I just learned about it today, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised).

So J&P are based in Riverdale now?

Josie and the Pussycats #1 variant by Alitha Martinez & Dereck Charm are great. I wonder if they have a blank cover like Archie & Jughead & Betty & Veronica? Would they have 25 covers too?

None of these variants capture Melody's sexiness. And keeping in mind that ACP is so very political correct nowadays ( ::) ), I am afraid Melody won't be portrayed as the sexy kitten she was in the Classic style stories.

Melody and Josie are drawn pretty sexy in that Alitha Martinez cover.

Okay, why does this reboot comic NOT look like the TV show, or more importantly, the TV show NOT look like the reboot comic?? Will somebody please explain this to me?? Maybe the writers/artists didn't get the memo, I say sarcastically...

Calling Alexandra "Machiavellian" is kind of a stretch.

i have no idea...Josie's Black and a stuck arrogant crybaby who doesn't even want to record any songs despite being the lead singer of a rock band...

At a guess I would think that the comic coming out the month before the show is no accident — someone wants to keep the original comic brand alive, and if it came out after the show there'd be push back to race-change the comic characters too ...

The one where all look sexy, they all look like they are in their 20's . I thought they were supposed be in High School.

Really? I'm not too familiar with J&P. How many stories show them explicitly in high school versus those that don't?

Aren't the girls supposed to be a bit older than Archie and his friends? I don't think they are in high school.
