  • Vegan Jughead: Ms. Grundy would have been a total surprise but it turned out she wasn't really Ms. Grundy so I can let that go.  Killing Moose after barely seeing him last year and Midge after she was in literally one episode (and barely in it, at that) seems ridiculous.

  • DeCarlo Rules: For a character franchise that's been running for 75+ years, ARCHIE really has a pretty small cast of regulars. Apart from the core 5 and the other 6 already mentioned, there's Cheryl & Jason and Kevin... and (filed under "extended supporting players") the teachers and parents. That's pretty much it. 14 teen characters and their parents & teachers. Sabrina and Josie and their supporting casts coexist in Riverdale, but they're really their own separate franchises. If your murder victims turn out to be Jinx Malloy and Cricket O'Dell, there's not much drama in it, beyond a shrug.

  • DeCarlo Rules: Why Moose and Midge? Good question... let me know if you can think of any other ongoing characters who are more expendable, but still well-known. I guess the other likely candidates would be Dilton and Ethel, or Chuck and Nancy. I guess you could come up with a short list of other names, but are they really that well-known? Ms. Grundy was a total surprise!

  • CAPalace: Seriously though why are Moose and Midge like one of the first people to die whenever they are in the horror stories line and now Riverdale lol

  • Tuxedo Mark: I recently watched Geek House's reaction to the episode. They're very amateur. They often leave in false starts and farting around before the actual intro. Joey often struggles with the episode title, like he can't just look it up before they start recording. Joey has to announce that he's putting the video into full screen and then does a countdown. Cut all of that stuff out! In the new review, he and his wife didn't react at all to Moose and Midge being killed. It soon became apparent that they didn't even know it was Moose and Midge! Joey referred to them as the "drug addicts".

  • JonInIowaCity: I'm not saying that they're dead, but they're not listed as appearing in any future episodes in IMBD, while other minor characters are.

  • Vegan Jughead: I don't think Moose and Midge are dead.  I hope not.  It's one thing to kill Jason Blossom.  Killing two characters who have been around for 68 years is something else entirely.

Riverdale episode 9

Here are my thoughts:

Tree-tapping ceremony. WTF?

Maple syrup empire. WTF?

Why does the board fear Cheryl being in charge? She seems capable of leading the company.

LOL at Cheryl's "Also, 4.0."

So Polly supposedly thinks the Blossoms had "something to do" with Jason's death, but they actually were responsible for sending Hiram to jail, so maybe Hiram put a hit out on Jason?

Veronica's apparent go-to solution after feeling she's wronged someone: flowers.

I'm surprised that Mrs. Muggs kept Veronica's flowers.

What will Cheryl do? Will it be as imminent as the repercussions from the sacked football players, which hasn't happened yet?

Who eats buckets of maple syrup. Well, I mean besides Canadians and people with stage five diabetes? And...that's how the Blossoms got rich? So basically great grandpa Blossom killed not so great grandpa Cooper for tree sap. Nice. :)

Oh no. Valerie's dumped Archie. She was so interesting and not boring in the zzzzzzzzz

Well, I'll say this for Archie, he's somewhat contributed in the portion of the show I like: the murder mystery.

Seriously, Betty and Jughead should be the main stars and reduce Archie's time. I mean, I'd hate to shave minutes off of whatever girl he's with that episode, but I just find the more interesting storyline interesting.

I don't know if Alice working on the school paper is a demotion. I mean, the Blue and Girl staff have been breaking ground on Riverdale. That's right Betty and Jughead>>>>>>Riverdale Paper (sorry Reggie...not important!!!)>>>>>>>> Sheriff Keller.

Fred Andrews actually showing some guts. Good for him. And nice to see Hermoine back to being one of the only good adults/no crazy adults in Riverdale. I think there's only two.

Cheryl has a 4.0 GPA?? I call shenanigans!!

I love Alice Cooper. She handles stressful situations like an adult would.

"So Archie, you've always been nice to me and helped me out when I was getting arrested...but you did this one thing to slight me, so now you must DIE!" I don't get why hey don't want Cheryl running the family business. :)

Y'know, since this show is doing this so well, I'm gonna say something I've held back. Jughead being asexual is stupid. Yeah, I said it! It's stupid from a marketing standpoint and limits the character! There! I said it! And another thing...I hate wacky Jughead and can't wait for Waid's Jughead! Yeah!!

...

So many dislikes coming my way now. :(

Veronica is a good person. Be sad when her father returns and corrupts her.

I still say Polly is the killer! She's getting revenge on both families! She's disrupted her family and is going for the Blossoms next!!

So we can put Cheryl with Chuck in the "gonna get revenge sooner or later" category. Cherck? Churyl?

See, Archie's not a bad guy? Just stupid and naive. I mean, extremely stupid and supremely naive.

The Best part was when Alice threw a rock through the front door of where she & Hal Cooper work. I wonder if the window will be fixed by the next esposide?
