Veronica Lodge: New To Riverdale?

So in the new stories Veronica is new to Riverdale, does anyone know where she moved from and why she moved there? It seems like Riverdale is like a middle class town and then the super billionaire moves in a builds a huge mansion in the middle of town. Does anyone have a background information on Veronica on her days before she got to Riverdale?

Rockym

Actually, Veronica was new to Riverdale in the original comics from the 40s as well.  Archie started originally with him, Betty and Jughead.

Original Sin

In the original comics, Veronica was this rich elusive sub-debutante who moved to Riverdale and took it by storm. It some of the early stories, she was said to be from Boston, and in some others she was from NY.

I have never been to Boston, but I can definitely see Veronica shopping till she drops in New York City which I have visited since I have been in America since last Summer.

To know about the original characters, and their first appearances, Archie Americana Best of the Forties is a must read. :D

This, is the first ever appearance of Veronica Lodge.

Yes I have read that story it was in the back of one of the new Archie series. I remember Archie going out on a date to a restaurant with Veronica where he worked and he had the Tuxedo on and they made him work as a busboy while he was on the date with Veronica. That led to a bunch of other messes. It was funny.

This was Pep #26.  Where did the story appear when Archie wrote Veronica inviting her to a dance?  Was that "another" first appearance? I'm getting my timelines confuzzled.

Edit:  I'm thinking of Archie #1 which apparently hit the stands in November of 1942.  The story I was recalling was "Prom Pranks". Jughead brought Veronica a corsage containg poison ivy, from a cemetary no less!  But, yeah, it was an origin retelling as Pep #26 was a cover date of April. Archie #1 was not a first appearance as it might have seemed to readers of that issue.

After the earliest stories, there was a long period of time where they just didn't mention anything about it. Then after a while, it seemed like they were starting to incorporate the Little Archie stories (or at least some aspects of them) into the backstory of most of the Riverdale gang, so in that version Veronica moved to Riverdale as a little kid. A lot of stories that reference her as having been around when the gang were all little kids still show up as reprints in the digests, and those references were still showing up in stories up to the time of "The Death of Archie". None of that stuff means anything in the New Riverdale stories, since they're starting from scratch.

The thing about that is the reboot incorporates the original story concerning the origin of Ronica, who came to Riverdale as a teen, and not a child, which I really don't like. I would have preferred her as a kid who came to Riverdale...

Well, like I say, they're starting from scratch, so they can (or at least Mark Waid can) pick out the bits and pieces from older Archie stories that he likes... or just make up entirely new ones, like Jughead's parents having once been rich and then having lost it all. It's not a democracy, and I doubt Mark Waid did any fan polling beforehand to feel out the audience for what or what not to include, so you get what you get.

Note--Veronica gets compared to Cleopatra,.
Over the years, she has worn a Cleopatra costume, more than once.

And Hollywood had its Hedy Lamarr. It's unlikely that Veronica Lodge would ever have invented WiFi, though. Too bad "Science Babe" never became a trend.
