Who is your favorite Archie Comics character and why?

Great Gazoo

Mine would be Jughead mostly because I see myself a lot like him. I love to eat and can pound down food with the best of them and my metabolism must be good right now at my young age because I don't gain much weight. I also love my sleep and can easily choose to spend an entire day relaxing on the couch. I also love skateboarding which Jughead had his time period with as well, although I never got the funky hair cut. I like my long locks. I also see myself as having Jugheads quick wit and ability to have a comeback to most anything. The main difference between Jughead and I is I have been with the same girl since October 25, 2010. So I am more like Moose there as he seems like he has the most steady girl in Midge.

Thrillho

The one and only Veronica Lodge because brunettes rule!

Okay, I'm kidding. Veronica is my favorite because she's such a great foil for other characters. She can be an enemy or a friend in any story. Plus, she doesn't take crap from anyone but she also has a good heart. She'll use any situation to her advantage but will recognize when she's gone too far. I love how Dan Parent writes her, she can be a brat but it's entertaining, not annoying to the reader. I really miss her solo book.  :'(

BettyReggie

If could only pick one to be my most favorite it's  Cheryl Blossom. She is a fratnel twin just like me. Cheryl loves her brother even though he may be a pain. I have every issue of hers.

60sBettyandReggie

My favorite is Betty Cooper. She is a real sweetheart, always helping others, loyal and a great friend--Veronica is very lucky to have her as a friend. I would like to be more like her.

Sabrina. She's sweet (like Betty Cooper), and is well-intentioned but has a tendency for her plans to go wrong and get out of hand (like Archie). Since she's got the power of witchcraft at her disposal, sometimes she can't resist the temptation to use it for a little mischief or payback (like Veronica or Reggie), but overall she's nice and kind. Archie's got his dad, Fred Andrews, and Mr. Weatherbee as the authority figures in his life to cause him worry, and Sabrina's got her Aunt Hilda (the original one could be pretty crotchety sometimes) and Head Witch Della looking over her shoulder and criticizing.

Reggie, I think he's the funniest and one of the most underrated and I always root for the villain. I like Veronica almost as much but I relate to Reggie more.

GingerGal

In the little I have read in the rebooted Archie and Jughead series I really like Jughead so far. He seems to have a great imagination and also like adventures which is cool.

Mazz

Sabrina, she is friendly and caring but means business when need be. Sometimes her witchcraft gets out of hand, but she always works hard to fix everything in the end which usually leaves a lot of laughs in the middle.

Midge Klump

Betty is my favorite, but I like her with a backbone to come back at Veronica when she is stepping all over her. That is the Betty Cooper I love.

Original Sin

The one and only Jughead Jones. He is the character I identify most with. I love that he marches to the beat of his own drums. And he is such a versatile character. (I think I already said this on another thread) He can be as wise as Yoda, as manipulative as Machiavelli. He is loyal, funny, quirky, and probably the most intelligent of them all. I especially love the Jughead characterization from the Samm Schwartz era; in a lot of those stories, Jug was both the hero and the villain.

Another great thing about Jughead is that, he has got awesome and unique chemistry with all the other characters. He is Archie's faithful friend, guide, philosopher, and mooch. He is Betty's confidant and cheerleader. He is Reggie's nemesis. He has got this crazy love-hate thing going on with Veronica. You can put Jughead in any story.

Jingles

Betty would be my favorite main character. She is if I was a teen cartoon character living in Riverdale what I'd want as a best friend.

Captain Jetpack

Sabrina, whose personality is charming, and appearance enchanting.
Pie is my favorite Vitamin.

achernar

Betty and Veronica since I love reading Dan DeCarlo stories. I like their stories about travels, sleepovers, shopping and high school cliques.

As mentioned above in my earlier post, Sabrina. I just wanted to comment that one of the things I really liked about the classic Sabrina stories was that she was frequently portrayed (you might call it an ongoing theme for the series) as "torn between two worlds". She couldn't reveal herself as a witch to her human friends, but she really had a yearning to belong, be one of the gang, and just be a relaxed normal teenager having fun. Yet as a young witch in training, she was frequently placed in an awkward position, criticized for her mortal-leaning ways, and encouraged to do bad deeds. In order to make her Aunts and Head Witch Della happy, she has to do exactly the opposite of what she'd like to, which is using her spells for good deeds. I always liked that background tension that was part of the basic setup of the series.
