Let's say the franchise gets sold to IDW and they decide to put out new stories. Would you buy them? Ive been thinking about it and I don't know if I would. Maybe if they hired the artists and writers who used to work for Archie, it would give some continuity with the old, but otherwise it might be too much of a change for me.
Well, I wouldn't NOT buy them just because IDW was the company publishing them. For the rest, it depends... on how they're written and drawn. I mean if IDW isn't just publishing new stories by the classic Archie writers and artists, but instead doing their own version of a reboot. If they merely continued the current version of Archie under the IDW imprint, then no.
To me, it just depends on the quality of the work and the characters. I'd definitely buy it if it was IDW. If it was Marvel or DC, I still might, but not if they started incorporating Archie with their own characters, i.e. Archie vs Spider Man, or Archie Loves Princess Leia. I have zero interest in anything those two companies put out, so I'd hate Archie just to become a cog in that wheel.

All Others: Yes
No matter who makes them, i'll read them.
Whatever the company it would come down to how the stories are written and what the art looks like if I would purchase them or not.

On the other hand, I would KILL to read a Spidey Meets Archie comic book. As long as it wasn't the current versions of either of those characters, and instead was the 1965 version, with Peter Parker still at Midtown High or just having recently graduated. And if they could get John Romita Sr. to draw it, I think I'd feel like I'd died and gone to heaven. Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge meet Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson. They're kind of exactly the same, but from different universes. Peter Parker has more in common with Archie Andrews than Peter would be comfortable admitting, either. Yet they're also complete opposites in most ways.
Wow, I hadn't even thought about it, but what if the Diabolical Duo, Reggie Mantle and Flash Thompson got together to switch partners and prank each other's victims? What if Mad Doctor Doom & Chester got together with Victor Von Doom & Kraven the Hunter? Oh, this could be a classic!
Well, Archie meets the Punisher worked pretty well ...

Well I'm glad everyone would be willing to give a new company a shot, I do think it would be smart for them to rehire Fernando Ruiz, Dan Parent, the Kennedys and the rest so that the new version wouldn't feel too alien but they might be unavailable by that time.
I would, and if they bring back Mega Man and convince Nintendo to get the OK to the the Super Mario comic.
Well, we already have Mark Waid & Ryan North & soon Adam Hughes writing/drawing Archie comics so how would it be different from another company exactly? These are the people from the other companies.

Not all other companies are equal. I see vast differences in the publishing philosophies of Marvel & DC, Image and IDW and Dark Horse. Interestingly, DC is currently rebooting a bunch of Hanna-Barbera properties (
Scooby-Doo Apocalypse, The Flintstones, Wacky Raceland) that seem to be informed by the same sensibilities as Archie's various retakes on its classic characters. I don't see IDW doing the same sort of Archie reboot that ACP is doing.
I'd probably buy them from any company.

DC has a long history with the Dark Circle & other heroes — even tried to integrate them into the DCU at one point before the licensing agreements came apart ... those and the Horror titles might be shunted to Vertigo (and better treated) or introduced to their main line (which they've stsated will no longer be as concerned with continuity if the story is good ... :-\

I agree to a point, but IDW has more experience publishing all ages titles. The trick here is to market classic Archie to both nostalgic adults and to parental units willfully encouraging and sharing the comic book experience with
their kids. Apart from the "Itty Bitty" titles by Art Baltazar, DH has little experience. Should they get hold of it, I'd be afraid they'd be more interested and inclined to expanding the Archie Horror titles into a mini-imprint ala ARCHIE VS PREDATOR.

I was talking about the classic style Archie stories, if another company put out Archie I think they'd at least try to start with that.
