Your own Archie Comics Character: What would they be like?

If you could add a character of your own to Archie Comics what would they be like? Who would be their love interest? Would the be their best friend? etc......

Mine would be a female who is  extremely good at all sports sort of like Moose. Her love interest would be with Chuck Clayton and her best friend would be Nancy Woods. See how this could be interesting. Also throw in a little teacher crush on Mr. Clayton to make things even more interesting. My character would win all the sports awards kind of like Moose, but not be quite a dense in the classroom as Moose.

Original Sin

A nemesis/arch-rival for Kevin Keller, with whom KK would have a sizzling love-hate chemistry. In my head I call this character Rico. He would be quite the Casanova, and convinced that any gay, bi or questioning male must fall for his charms. He would have two or three minions who hang on his every word. He would be the last word in style. He would be witty, sarcastic, seductive. In short, Rico would be everything KK is not.

I love that idea, but I wouldn't want Rico to be too overbearing and pressuring on anyone including Kevin. To me that just send the wrong message about the gay community and gay people. Not to change your perspective on Rico I would have Rico still the Casanova who loves himself and feels he is super charming(sort f like Reggie in that way).

I don't think giving a gay character some flaws or negative traits would send the wrong message about the community. Flawed characters are usually more popular. And I think Archie Comics tried playing it too safe with Kevin Keller, and made him too perfect and vanilla. Someone like Rico could be a nice foil for him.

And of course, the whole thing would be done in an exaggerated cartoony slapstick style, like the awesome Archie stories of earlier eras. Characters can behave outrageously in that kind of comic book stories.  ;)

I enjoy having another character in a wheelchair. I use a power chair & wheelchair. Maybe make her be friends with characters we hardly see. Whatever happened to Brigette?  They can be friends. I would love to make her love interest Jason Blossom. Because he seems like he would actually not be kind to her but serectly like her. His friends at Pembroke High would give him a hard time for liking her. And have named Erin.

I totally understand where you are coming from, but if they would bring a character  in like Rico I guarantee other communities would feed so much negativity into the way they portray him it wouldn't even be funny.

Harper was a fantastic addition and a very popular addition to the later part of the Classic Archie style. I have no idea why they didn't keep up with her.

hmm, if I can create my own character.... thats a tough one to think about.

I would try to have a character like Betty but probably as rich as Veronica is, and then a story about how Archie falls in love with the Betty like character but has money like Veronica, then Veronica getting jealous so she gets Betty to help her to be nice to others and not mean so she can win Archie's heart back yet Betty doesn't know if she wants to help since she wants Archie also.

unless there is a story like that.

Oddly enough or not, this is not a topic to which I've ever given any thought. There just seem to be SO many characters in the Archieverse, and so little space for some of the ones I like who haven't gotten much "screen time" (and are getting even less now than they were 5 years ago or so) that I seem to spend most of my time thinking about THEM.

Also, I'm not really feeling any particular void where there's a certain character type that I'd be dying to see, but no existing character that approximates that type, or some kind of "Mary Sue" type character that's a stand-in/identifying character for ME.

I agree, Kevin needs a good foil and at the end of the day gay people are people so there are, of course, some jerks. The only way Rico would be a problem is if he was the only portrayal of a gay person in Archie Comics but Kevin is already such a role model, for anyone really, that I don't really see a problem.

I'm surprised Ginger is a Lesbian in AfterLife With Archie but not one in the regular comics. I have a Archie & Friends issue where she's on the cover with Archie. Strange thing he has flowers & candy for her . But she dumps him. Maybe was interested in girls back then.

Jabroniville

My own character would be a guy (or girl) who was literally the only one in town to notice how INSANE everyone else is. Like, going "OH MY GOD! That huge guy just punched that other guy in the face for looking at his girl! That's assault! He has the mind of a child and he's somehow in High School! That red-headed kid just destroyed thousands of dollars worth of public property! Shouldn't he be made to pay for that, or his parents be called? That giant girl is committing sexual assault on that boy with the hat! And the same hat-wearing boy just ate enough food to KILL a normal person! And why do those two stone-cold hotties find that red-headed goof attractive?!? And who openly allows their boyfriend to two-time them, or waver between one and the other like that? That white-haired girl is practicing the occult!"

Basically, my character would be the Frank Grimes of the Archie Universe :).

No, there are at least a few other stories where she's dating different guys. In one story in particular, she's not too sympathetic when Archie bemoans his problems about never being able to say "no" to either Betty or Veronica, so once again he's gotten himself in a situation where he's promised them both a date on the same night. Ginger sort of laughs to herself about it, but no sooner does Archie leave than her phone rings and it's a guy asking her about their date together that night. A few minutes later, the phone rings again, and it's a DIFFERENT guy asking Ginger about their date together tonight. So Ginger goes home and picks out an outfit for her date to the Country Club Dance with one guy, and takes along her bowling outfit for her OTHER date out bowling (by an AMAZING coincidence, the bowling alley is located right across the street from the country club -- what incredible luck!), and she spends the night running back and forth between the two, chagrined about "pulling an Archie" herself. She gets caught running between the bowling alley and the country club by -- a THIRD guy who shows up, asking her if she forgot they had a date together that night! Ginger admits that she's "out-ARCHIE'ed Archie!"

That reminds me of the story where this guy arrives in Riverdale, having just retired from writing 30 years on a long-running soap opera. He's so SICK to death of all those crazy soap opera shenanigans and is looking forward to retirement in a nice quiet little town like Riverdale. No sooner does he set foot out of the cab that brought him, he runs into Betty. Then Veronica shows up, they start fighting, and then Archie, and then Reggie shows up to complicate things even further. The guy just stands there watching all the drama unfold for a couple of pages, then turns on his heel, suitcases still in hand, and goes running off into the night like a madman. He can't wait to leave "quiet" little Riverdale and "un-retire"!

Then he dies in an attempt to emulate Archie?
