Oldiesmann: Interesting to see they're bring Wilbur Wilkin back from the dead again. I remember them making a big deal of it when they suddenly decided he was Jughead's cousin years ago - only for him to vanish again, much like Jellybean

Tuxedo Mark: How absolutely pathetic. Five items, three of which are entirely reprints. Only two new 5-page stories for the entire month. Only two of the four "main" digests. And the story in the girls' digest features Bingo and Pureheart.

Battle of the old school America's Girls. Who is better and why?

joniniowacity

I like Suzie. She's the working gal who doesn't work very well. Which is humorous for a comic book.

Ginger is too much of a female Archie figure, for my taste.

irishmoxie

Most of the Suzie stories I've read have been pretty boring. I did like when she made a cameo in a modern story though.

MLJ 1939

I'm more of a Ginger fan, mostly for the great work that George Frese and Harry Lucey did on the series.

Mr.Lodge

I like Suzie but she comes across as too dumb and most of the Suzie stories I've read have been pretty boring.  ???

Ginger overall is better.  :smitten:

Who is better? GINGER.
And why? HARRY LUCEY.

Great Gazoo

As an overall character I like Ginger. I really love the artistry done with her and her character was better in my opinion than Suzie.

I've only read Ginger stories, so I'll go with Ginger.

When you have the opportunity, there's dozens of public domain Suzie comics on the DCM website.

Ginger by a mile. I always thought Suzie was boring.

Ginger was really fun and she has Icky in her stories. Icky is awesome. :)

joniniowacity

I prefer Suzie. I remember her always looking for (and failing miserably at) jobs. She's got spunk!

Who was the artist? Or one of them, anyway?

Some covers are attributed to Al Fagaly, and I would guess he did some interior stories.  Some stuff has a Katy Keene vibe so maybe Bill Woggon was more the regular artist?  Samm Schwartz did some later issues as he signed his work.  The Suzie website is completely lacking this sort of info.
