Ah, that Harry Lucey. Back in the day when a little pretty girl cheesecake sexiness was considered healthy and innocent. Now of course it's considered sexist at best, and perverted at worst (given that these girls are supposed to be 16 or 17 years old). I blame it largely on the fact that when the digests became the main breadwinners for ACP, the purse-strings to those purchases were being held by the Mothers of America, and the content of the floppy comic stories was already being editorially guided by consideration of it being fodder for the reprint digests, so things were toned down to make the stories safe for mothers to purchase for their 8-12 year-old daughters. As opposed to the days when floppy comics were purchased by both boys and girls by their own discretion, based on whatever disposable income they could accrue (or wheedle out of their parents). After all, we were only talking about 10 cents to a quarter per comic book.
