Title: If there was a away to invest in Archie Comics--would you?
Post by: Captain Jetpack on August 21, 2016, 07:46:39 AM
I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH ARCHIE COMICS, NOR WITH ANY INVESTMENT FIRM.

But, if fans could invest in the company, or in individual books, with a hope of a cash return, would you invest in Archie?

If the aim was to make a profit, it's a bad risk for a return on your investment, so that's a "NO" for me.

If you just want to support a particular title (or group of titles) as a fan, then that's what Kickstarter is for. ACP tried that, and it turned out to be a disaster.

Perhaps an infusion of cash is what Archie Comics needs to succeed.

Invest for profit, no.  I do try to support the company by buying most of the product, and I occasionally "recycle" books back into the community so others might read the stories and catch the bug, as it were.
