Title: RIP THE RIVERDALE PODCAST
Post by: chancebond on July 30, 2016, 01:33:38 PM
Jon seems to be retiring.  But that doesn't mean we cant continue to have a podcast, Why not start one on the forum?  In fact, that's just what I intend to do!  Please share your opinion/s on this, and I'll aim for the First "Episode" the week after the last Podcast from Jon.

Are you getting a podcast on iTunes like Jon so you can talk about Archie ?

I'm not clear on how you podcast on a forum like SimpleMachine. Maybe it supports that somehow, but I have no idea how it works. Maybe just do a clip or something to show how that works, because my imagination fails me as to what it's going to look like or where on the forum you'd navigate to to get to it.

Sorry, I should have clarified a little bit better.  I put the word "Podcast" in parenthesis, by which I meant That I would do a typed out "podcast" (I just don't know what those are called)... so I guess you could say, Weekly Thread?  My Bad.

I love the esposide where he went to NYCC. And when he talked about Life With Archie & all of Gisele's issues & Archie #1 & Betty & Veronica #1 He had awesome guests Gisele & Fernando & Dan and our own Jon Trouton.

I'm pretty excited about next Saturday's Riverdale Podcast with special guests Rik Offenberger and Paul Castiglia talking about their new book, THE MLJ COMPANION. Jonathan should have asked Fernando Ruiz on the show as well - I know he's a huge fan of the ACP superheroes. I hope it's an extra-long show!

Somewhat off topic, but shouldn't Fernando and Dan and whomever they're collaborating with have their own podcast where they talk about current projects & stuff?  Every two months or so would be fine to keep readers up to date on their happenings.

I'm often surprised at creators who do little in the way of self-promotion, but at least Dan and Fernando have their own websites, where you can see what they've been up to, or contact them directly to ask for commissions, etc. (They also have Facebook and Twitter accounts.) But they're both busy with actual work, as well as convention appearances, so it's not as if they have a lot of free time to do a regular podcast themselves.

Have you ever tried to find a trace of internet presence for people like Jeff Shultz or Pat and Tim Kennedy? It's near-impossible.

Ain't full with Archie storyboards and scripts, but I understand.  You promote here and on fb which is cool.  We appreciate it.

I was being sincere.  As a long time comics fan I sorely miss when a favorite creator is taken off a project.  Kirby, Thomas, Gerber, Moench, Buscema, Grell, Sienkiewicz, Mort Walker, and on and on.  My comment was not meant as a dig or a slight.  I genuinely miss your contribution to the Archie world.  I'm unhappy with many of the choices and creative direction(s) ACP has gone in recent years.  I was only trying to "speak" in my own casual manner.  My apologies for being unclear.
