I wantedto know what everyone reads besides Archie. For me I enjoy reading these comics
👓-Saga- I have about 75% of them. I also have 2 graphic novel of it. I have even rented the books I don't have of the series.
🌟-Invincible- I saw one of the series at the library & loved it so much. I keep renting more books from the library. I have about 8 issues of Invincible.
⚽-Morning Glories-is another I found at the library & it was so good. I had keep reading all the other Morning Glories Graphic Novels. Hunter reminds me of Archie & Ike is so much like Reggie. I have a few issues.
Books that I suggest everyone read there
Blankets-It's a huge book & It's a beautiful story.
Friends With Boys-which a Faith Erin Hicks books, her art is beautiful. I love the way she draws male characters. And another book of hers is Nothing Could Possibly Go Wrong, I rented it from the library & loved it so much I had to buy it.
Bad Houses is a great book, it was another library find that I loved so much I bought it.

For comics, I've only ever read Archie.

for other books, any books about baseball history or rock and roll history are usually what I read

Far, far too many to list here, even if I'm only considering the ones currently being published (but stuff that is currently being reprinted in hardcover and trade paperbacks does make up a significant percentage of that). I usually list what comics I get every week over on the "What comics are you reading?" thread.

Really liking Jonesy, Jem and the Holograms, Lumberjanes, Princeless (even though the Make Yourself series isn't great), Harrow County  :smitten:, Rachel Rising. I'm really getting into horror comics (I guess they are more mystery) which surprises me because I don't like horror movies or gritty things at all.

Also really liked the EMET comics for women such as Finding Molly and The Wendy Project. I just wish they came out more often.

Black Magick. Paper Girls. Plutona. A lot of these are on hiatus right now which saves my wallet.

Bee and Puppycat. Grumpy Cat. Chi's Sweet Home  :smitten: Hero Cats (occasioonally) and Action Lab Dog of Wonder

Die Kitty Die. Super Suckers.

Fresh Romance another women's comic. I love the historical romance story in this one called Ruined. Very Jane Austen.

Lots of manga that people here are probably not interested in. Some manga from the Web Toon app.

I tried to only mention my favs that I have to read as soon as I get them.

I have been reading Sunstone & Jem & The Holograms & Lumberjanes . I have a few Unbeatable Squirrel Girl & Black Canary & Deadly Class issues. I gave up on Harley Quinn & Zodaic Starforce Those 2 weren't good anymore. I have 3 issues of New Romancer. I don't have the issues but I really like Giant Days. I only have 1 issue of Paper Girls but the graphic novel is one the wait list at the library for me. It's cool that one of girls is named Erin that's my real name. I'm really looking foward to getting Nameless City from the Library, it's on my wait list. It's from Faith Erin Hicks.

I sometimes read Uncle Scrooge/ Donald Duck comics and Peanuts comics.

Doesn't Derek Charm do those comics? I can't wait to see his work on those 2 Jughead issues.

I think so. Yeah.

Anything not related to MARVEL or DC. Too much Superhero trash out there.  :buck2:

Get a life guys. Being outside when the sun shines is nice. Ever hear of a 'girl' or a 'date'?  ;D

  • You can write unreadable trash in any genre and conversely there is good writing in every genre as well — :-\ you do realize that what you're saying is exactly what nearly everyone says about Archie comics?
  • I personally find nothing pleasant or nice about being outside when the sun shines.  :(

And you think smiting someone for having an opinion you don't like is good?  :knuppel2:

Thanks for making my point (and my day).  :)

Going to read nameless city soon. Read a preview of it I really liked.

For being generally dismissive of other's opinions and experiences sight-unseen, and not considering what "a life" or "nice" means to others, yes ...

if a knee-jerk smite is all you can muster then so be it — I really had thought better of you ...

Just one question. Why is it that you find it necessary to make yourself feel better by hating on other people for what they like?
Hate a publishing company if you must for what they publish, or a genre of fiction. If you don't like it, that's your choice. You should have stopped after your first 2 sentences, which is your legitimate opinion.
Hating on people whose entertainment choices you disagree with? NOT COOL.
My advice? Get outside with the sun shining in a very public place and read your Archie comic books there. Then see how many people you impress with how much cooler you are than readers of other types of comic books.

I have read Archie during a slow night at work and was made fun of a bit.  :-[  But mostly my male co-workers wanted to see how slutty/not slutty Betty and Veronica were dressed.

I do wish there were less superhero comics or rather a greater proportion of other types of stories. I think Image and IDW are the big players in that (though I like the smaller pubs even better) and hopefully there will be even more choice in the future. If people find out I like comics they always assume I know all the Marvel lore and start talking to me about the movies of which I have seen none.
