  • Vegan Jughead: Cool reviews, Mark!  I kind of agree with you on the Vixens art style.  Not digging it much.  I do kind of like the vintagey clothes on B&V in the school scenes, but I'm not into biker chicks.

    November 13, 2017, 03:44:17 AM
  • DeCarlo Rules: I thought the ad money was only a piece of the webcomics big picture, with the other pieces being commission work and print collections of past webcomics, and word-of-mouth that leads to paying assignments from established publishers. It seems like Gisele just has too much talent to stay out of the game for long, and if nothing else, minus the expenses of hosting and time spent creating webcomics, she ought to be able to make a living just doing covers (which pay better than interior pages), if nothing else.
    November 12, 2017, 06:23:36 AM
  • irishmoxie: Apparently the ad money for webcomics couldn't pay her living expenses anymore.
    November 11, 2017, 08:38:24 PM
  • DeCarlo Rules: Aw, dang. I hope Gisele gets a regular print comic series going. Hopefully that's the only reason she's quitting webcomics.

    November 09, 2017, 02:36:54 PM
  • irishmoxie: They're selling the old Archie Annuals from 40s and 50s on ComiXology

Yesterday I received Archie #12 Fish & Bilquis Evely issues. I'll read them today. I just love Thomas Pitilli's art. He's the best. I'll hang in my comic frames soon.

ARCHIE #12 - Just read the reprint in back, "MOOSE!". That's from 1990, written by Waid, which is what I suggested to Waid that they should reprint in the back of ARCHIE when I saw him at Boston Comic Con back in August -- so thanks for the quick response. Hopefully we'll get to see the rest of those half-dozen shorts he wrote back then.

JOSIE #1 - Ugh. Worse than I feared, a real snooze-fest. It's all talk, talk, talk, nothing much happens... it's boring. Halfway through the story I was already skimming the dialogue (which wasn't interesting or funny) to get to the end. Pepper is brought back, but this version of the character is pretty dull and uninteresting, lacking the witty and sarcastic observations of the classic Pepper. Melody just isn't the same Melody, either. I felt pretty neutral about the artwork, didn't love it or hate it. Last issue for me, at least until they get a new writer.

GARTH ENNIS' RED TEAM: DOUBLE TAP #3 (of 9)

WEIRD DETECTIVE #4
TARZAN ON THE PLANET OF THE APES #1 (of 5)
LONE RANGER/GREEN HORNET #3 (of 5)

I read Gisele's Archie Meets The Ramones. I loved it. It was so colorful. Everybody looked great even the crowds in the audience. There was even characters from Gisele's other comics which was cool.

I read Archie Meets The Ramones-Gisele's issue. I just love it. I think it's better than those Kiss issues. Even though I'm a huge fan of Kiss. I have seen them in concert twice.

The later Cheryl Blossom issues. Surprisingly they weren't up on comics.org so I'm trying to add them.
