  • Vegan Jughead: Cool reviews, Mark!  I kind of agree with you on the Vixens art style.  Not digging it much.  I do kind of like the vintagey clothes on B&V in the school scenes, but I'm not into biker chicks.

    November 13, 2017, 03:44:17 AM
  • DeCarlo Rules: I thought the ad money was only a piece of the webcomics big picture, with the other pieces being commission work and print collections of past webcomics, and word-of-mouth that leads to paying assignments from established publishers. It seems like Gisele just has too much talent to stay out of the game for long, and if nothing else, minus the expenses of hosting and time spent creating webcomics, she ought to be able to make a living just doing covers (which pay better than interior pages), if nothing else.
    November 12, 2017, 06:23:36 AM
  • irishmoxie: Apparently the ad money for webcomics couldn't pay her living expenses anymore.
    November 11, 2017, 08:38:24 PM
  • DeCarlo Rules: Aw, dang. I hope Gisele gets a regular print comic series going. Hopefully that's the only reason she's quitting webcomics.

    November 09, 2017, 02:36:54 PM
  • irishmoxie: They're selling the old Archie Annuals from 40s and 50s on ComiXology

ARCHIE'S STORY & GAME DIGEST #16
JUGHEAD DOUBLE DIGEST #16
LAUGH COMICS DIGEST #16

After I found those first two digests at my LCS, I noticed that they were both #16, and pulled the third one out of my collection (one of the oldest digests I own, and I don't really collect LAUGH digest, it's the only one I have). That made me wonder how many other #16 issues of digests I own so I checked and here are the ones I found:

ARCHIE & FRIENDS DOUBLE DIGEST #16
ARCHIE'S FUNHOUSE DOUBLE DIGEST #16
JUGHEAD & ARCHIE DOUBLE DIGEST #16
JUGHEAD & FRIENDS DIGEST #16
TALES FROM RIVERDALE DIGEST #16

That is the longest list of digest titles that I own the same issue number of, and it will probably be a long time until I own more digest titles of a different issue number.

Is #16 the last issue of the series?

Catching up on some Pixie Trix webcomics. Reading DANGEROUSLY CHLOE Vol. 2 (Chapters 11-16) right now on the computer (I save them all first to  make it easier to read -- I figure it's worth the extra time/work to save it before reading it, because I'll probably want to re-read it again sometime), and ASTRO BOY (1960-61 stories) in paperback. After I finish those stories I'll have to see if I can get caught up on other Pixie Trix comics I haven't read in months, like EERIE CUTIES and MAGICK CHICKS, and maybe save all of Kristin Gudsnuk's HENCHGIRL webcomics and re-read the whole thing (it concluded with the 10th issue of the print comic). I kind of like waiting a few months until I can save complete chapters of the webcomic series. I just enjoy it more that way than checking it every few weeks just to read a few pages.

Sure wish there would be a new print issue of Darin Henry and Jeff Schultz' SUPER SUCKERS soon.
