Oldiesmann: Interesting to see they're bring Wilbur Wilkin back from the dead again. I remember them making a big deal of it when they suddenly decided he was Jughead's cousin years ago - only for him to vanish again, much like Jellybean

Tuxedo Mark: How absolutely pathetic. Five items, three of which are entirely reprints. Only two new 5-page stories for the entire month. Only two of the four "main" digests. And the story in the girls' digest features Bingo and Pureheart.

Purgatori

I suppose I do identify with Jughead more than any other male character, but, if I shipped, it would be Betty / Veronica...

Mine refers to my love of Oldies music. The extra "n" on the end is a bit of creativity on my part. When I came up with this name in high school, I wanted something I could use across the net without there being any chance that someone else had already taken it. "Oldiesman" and similar nicknames are quite popular, and I was taking German in high school at the time, so I changed "man" to its German equivalent.

When I think of "oldies", I tend to think of the 50s and 60s. Of course, you can easily add 70s-90s to this category. Which decade are you drawn to, Oldiesmann?

Definitely some great influential musician made themselves known back then like Elvis, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, The Everly Brothers, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, and The Jefferson Airplane just to name a few.

I'd like to add some personal faves- Roy Orbison, The Bee Gees and Tommy James and the Shondells.

I completely forgot that The Bee Gees started out in the 60's and maybe even earlier when they were kids. They really changed the Disco scene though in the later 70's with there stuff. Roy Orbison had such a great voice. I don't know much about Tommy James and the Shondells.

Tommy James has been covered by:

Joan Jett - Crimson & Clover
Billy Idol - Mony Mony
Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now
Tom Petty - Dragging the Line

In all 4 cases, I think the originals are superior.

I do know all of those songs. Just didn't know the name of the original artist. Shame on me who is studying Music Production to hopefully become a Music Producer someday. I do however like Joan Jett's version of Crimson & Clover and Tom Petty's version of Dragging The Line.

Beach Bays & Jackson 5 ... :-\ just to continue OT ...

Thrillho

I originally chose BrightestDay because I think I registered when that event was going on in the DCU and I thought it sounded lovely. Hindsight made me rethink that decision.  :P

Thrillho comes from the Simpsons episode "Marge Be Not Proud." When Milhouse has to enter his name on a video game he chooses Thrillhouse but he doesn't have space so it comes out as Thrillho. I thought it was funny and I am not clever enough to come up with my own username.  :)

I think your new name is a step up from BrightestDay! Not that there was anything wrong with your old name.

Hahaha  ;D . Thanks, I agree. I came to really dislike that username but just kept it to avoid any confusion.
