Everything coming out in January 2017 looks awesome. I preordered all 3 Archie #16. I love all those covers. I love Reggie & Me #2 the main issue & Chip Zdarsky cover. But for
RiverDale, I just pre-order Dan Parent & Thomas Pitilli issues. And of course Derek's Jughead issue of Jughead.

BettyReggie

I'm going wait until Tfaw has a special, maybe some of those RiverDale #1's wil be $1.00. Because right now I only pre-order Pitilli's  & Parent's issues.

Dang, don't tell me they're going to force me to buy a copy of RIVERDALE #1 just to get this sweet Dan Parent cover. Er... who's the girl with Archie here?

It's a relief to see that all the January 2017 digests are now solicited with the line Brand new story!, as I wasn't sure whether new lead stories would last into the new year. Wait a minute, did I just say ALL the January 2017 digests? DAMN that Archie Comics! Sure, they wait until I cancel my subscription to the 75th Anniversary Celebration Jumbo Comics Digest, and the minute I do, then they put a NEW lead story in there!! GRRRR...!!  Leave  it up to ACP, no matter what I do, when I zig, they zag. Could it have been that disgruntled email I sent them when I cancelled?  Or is that even the right solicitation copy for this digest? It's a Jumbo Comics Digest, not a Double Digest, as the copy says, after all. :knuppel2:

I guess that Val from Josie & The Pussycats. But where is Reggie? Why isn't he there? He is actually on only one RiverDale #1

DeCarlo Rules

She could be Valerie, or even Josie. Or maybe even Harper. Heck, if I didn't already know Reggie was going to be Hispanic in the show, I wouldn't put it past them to turn him into a black female character, either.

Ah, I think she's Josie. I recall she'll be Black ALONG with Valerie. Redundancy, anyone?  ::)

I just don't understand. ACP already has the diversity angle down pat. Why go and change the iconic look? I COULD understand if just about all the characters were White, but I don't recognize this show, save the characters just having the same names....  :tickedoff:

Reggie is going to be Asian, not Hispanic. But yeah, I get what you mean.

I think Harper's supposed to Indian. Because in thst issue where she signing her book that she wrote her mom was there & she was looked Indian. Harper's father must be Mr. Lodges brother because he looked like his brother Hiram.

No, she's not half-Indian. Her mother's African-American.

I can't wait for Chip Zdarsky's issue for Reggie & Me #2. He makes Reggie look gorgeous. I wonder how they will put the title on the cover because Chip already wrote Reggie & Me on it.

Chip Zdarsky is drawing REGGIE? Oh, he's not drawing the story, just the cover, you mean. Apart from hanging them on a wall or just putting them in plastic bags and admiring them, I don't make much of a connection between the cover and the comic (by which I mean the story written and drawn on the inside). They're pretty much interchangeable, so I consider the cover that was drawn by the interior artist to be the "real" cover.
