Oldiesmann: Just spent $16 to buy all 5 issues of the Archie '55 miniseries on eBay. Not sure how I missed that when it was released, but they apparently never made a TPB of it like they did with Archie 1941 either.

Tuxedo Mark: Were there no new comics this week? Archie Comics hasn't made a post about it on their official site.

Oldiesmann: Interesting to see they're bring Wilbur Wilkin back from the dead again. I remember them making a big deal of it when they suddenly decided he was Jughead's cousin years ago - only for him to vanish again, much like Jellybean

Oldiesmann: I miss the days of floppies with there or four new stories each. I'll take that over digests any day

Tuxedo Mark: How absolutely pathetic. Five items, three of which are entirely reprints. Only two new 5-page stories for the entire month. Only two of the four "main" digests. And the story in the girls' digest features Bingo and Pureheart.

Quote"The characters are also a romantic vision of another time, though not in the way you might think. Sure, there's a way in which the Riverdale gang harkens back to an invented, Pleasantville-esque period of American consensus and stability. But the time that we seek through Archie and his pals isn't a historical time, but rather a personal one: adolescence. When you're a child, you thumb through an Archie digest and, like the young Aguirre-Sacasa, dream of how great it'll be to be a teenager. When you pick up one of Goldwater's revamped Archie comics as an adult, you're dreaming of how great it was to be a teenager. Either way, you're pining for those axial days of high school.
Pie is my favorite Vitamin.
