I just started listening to the episode posted this past Saturday, August 27, and I now realize what might be the reason of the ending of this podcast. It is clear that Jonathan is not a fan of the new relaunch of Archie and I have to say I agree with him. My feeling is that Archie is becoming like the current Marvel Comics. Don't get me wrong, I think each publisher has the right to do anything it can to maximize the profits (this is the goal), but I am also a believer that readers have the right to stop reading if they don't recognize their heroes anymore.

I am a big fan of Spider-Man and the current stories written by Dan Slott are nothing like the classic Spider-Man. What you see on those pages is a different and new character. This is why I stopped reading hose stories.

Same thing for Archie. The Archie written by Mark Waid and drawn by many different artists is light years far from the classic Archie we all loved.

What do you guys think?

I think he generally likes the relaunch.

Here's something a little different that came to mind when I was reading the latest issue of "Scooby Apocalypse." Who's your favorite Scooby-Doo wingman? I'm not talking about the people. I'm all about the dogs here!

Excluding Archie and any of the Riverdale Gang, who are your favorite MLJ/Archie Comics characters from the 40s, 50s, and/or 60s?

I've added fifteen of my favorite choices here, but encourage you to add your own choices here in the comments!

I'll be home tomorrow night. I'll work on it off my desktop computer then or Sunday morning. :)

Jon's on vacation right now. I can write up a poll when I get home, but there's tons of old MLJ and Archie characters. I'm not so rigid that people can't answer in the way that feels right to them though. :)

I love Super Duck!

I enjoy reading through Golden Age comics on public domain sites so have lots of favorites. You have a good idea for polling, Steve. I may give that a try later today. :)

All About Archie / Re: Life With Kevin

I enjoyed it. I got used to the blue and white fairly quickly. Dan's artwork often seems... kinetic to me and that style remains true to this story. It features his misadventures on his first day of post-college work. Of course, anything that can go wrong does. We meet a new love interest and learn of a possible returning love interest. Veronica isn't a huge presence, but promises to be a huge presence starting in issue #2. Over all, I enjoyed it.

The old board crashed and the whole thing had to be recreated.

I found it funny that Archie's father worked for Mr. Lodge. I didn't think they knew each. Mr. Lodge is a business man but I no idea what Fred Andrews does. I always thought he worked in a office.

He worked for Mr. Lodge in the radio series way, way back in the day.
