While I agree with that in general, it does limit many things to an Archie perspective...

Okay, I admit that I'm just counting the Superteen stories printed in B&V and B&Me where she's the star of the story, so I'm not counting any appearances outside of those titles with The United Three, like in LIFE WITH ARCHIE #50. I'm missing that story, as well as "To the Rescue" from B&Me #5.

The Superteen stories are some of my favorite Betty stories of all time. I have scans of all but one of them, and I have most of them in reprinted versions too. In BETTY AND ME #4, there's a 13-page epic where she fights Magnet Girl, the "Maid of Mischief". I was looking at that the other day, and noticing that Magnet Girl is a redhead and a mean girl, who schemes to thwart Superteen at every turn. She looks and acts amazingly like Cheryl Blossom, but the Superteen stories were printed in 1965 and 1966, while Cheryl wasn't introduced until BETTY AND VERONICA #320 (1982). Still, we never do see Magnet Girl without her mask or learn her true identity...
Err... it's kind of difficult to explain exactly what's going on in this panel...

Quote from: GingerGal on April 25, 2016, 06:38:07 AMIf it gets picked up at all it will almost certainly get to run a full season, but what that is will be defined in the contract — anywhere from 6-24 episodes these days, with 22 being the most common regular season, but 13 being common for a 1st season/trial/replacement series ...Quote from: BettyReggie on April 25, 2016, 12:43:44 AMDo ya think it's gonna make it to a full season?

Quote from: Rockym on April 25, 2016, 02:50:06 PMBecause they can? Marvel really started the whole race-swapping thing when they had the chance to get Samuel L.Jackson to play Nick Fury — that was just a marketing thing to have a big name actor for a major character ... they at least introduce new characters to do it these days ... DC is the one that is the worst — their TV shows seem to automatically swap red-head → black character which I take quite personally, and aside from Archie and Cheryl ACP seems to be fallowing their lead and expanding on it ...
Why the hell are they turning Melody black? Valerie is in the cast list, so why change Melody's race? Really getting fed up with race changing when casting comic characters. Leave them alone and don't change characters that have been around probably longer than anyone assoicated with the show has been.
Quote from: GingerGal on April 25, 2016, 02:46:36 PMShe will be a primary character in the new TV series (if it goes to air) at least initially ...
This Cheryl Blossom hasn't made it into the new Archie and Jughead series yet. Being as popular as people say she is that surprises me a bit. Maybe she will be more a regular in the new Betty and Veronica series.
QuoteIs she as popular as Kevin Keller? At her peak in the late '90s she was much more popular — though so was Archie comics in general ... and she got more exposure in the comics for longer, so it's probably not a fair comparison either way. She's likely to show up in the New Riverdale comics eventually (she's from a rival school in a more affluent suburb, so there's no contradiction in her not being there immediately)
