I'm re-reading the Mediator series by Meg Cabot. I've actually met her, she was really nice.
LOVE this series. I've re-read it too. Never got to meet her though.

Does anyone know of any B&V stories where the girls encounter magic? Like witches, magical artifacts, or warlocks? I know that there's one where Veronica finds a wishing pendant and where the girls find a genie, but I'm looking for something new (or old, I guess) to read. The only stories that I seem to find are ones involving Sabrina and no offense to my favorite teenage witch, I kinda want something where B&V are in the spotlight. Thanks in advance

Does anyone know of any classic Archie, B&V, or Jughead hypnosis stories? I've always loved this trope, whether it was on Giligan's Island, Mister Ed, The Flintstones, or The Suite Life on Deck. You know me, I prefer B&V stories, but I'm also a fan of Jughead. So almost any type of hypnosis stories are welcome. I'm just looking for something funny (and free) to read. Thanks in advance

I'm excited for this! I think it'll be a pretty good drama! I'm a sucker for murder mystery stories. Plus the retro neon aesthetic of the promotional pictures looks super nice compared to most gritty
shows that try to go for a colorless and desaturated look.
The casting seems spot on imo! I absolutely love the pick for everyone! Ross Butler as Reggie is so great! I've talked to Ross before and he's such a sweet guy! I'm kinda disapointed it's looking like Reggie won't have a very big role in Riverdale which is unfortunate... Camila as Veronica is also amazing! She is the perfect Ronnie! I'm so ready for her and Betty's relationship! I already ship them so hard! I hope they are endgame... All the actors are so cute! I can't imagine a better casting! I love that it's so diverse! It's going to be filled with such great representation!
I'm also glad their going more for a dark humored drama rather than a straight up sitcom or something. I don't think a comedy would work very well. Most of the jokes that work in comic form
would fall very flat and most teenagers aren't really that interested in that kind of comedy anymore anyway.

I hope it's on Friday night. There's nothing on tv on Friday night.
I hope so too. Friday is the Jewish Sabbath and thus I will be unable to watch this atrocity.
It sounds to me like this show would be decidedly non-kosher, which would mean you shouldn't watch it no matter when it airs.![]()

Enchanted, a Disney movie with Amy Adams, dubbed in Cantonese.
Interesting. You understand Cantonese?
If so, it would seem ironic to me, as I would think there would be much more interesting films (i.e. films made in China, and otherwise not dubbed or subtitled in English) that you could be watching. I don't know anything about Enchanted (it could be a good film), but seems like it would be easily available in the language it was filmed in, wouldn't it?
I'm trying to learn Cantonese. I've already seen the movie in English before.
Have you seen The Mermaid, directed by Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle)? That's kind of a Disney-esque story that was (I believe) originally filmed in Cantonese.
EDIT: Oops, my bad. Should have checked first -- it's actually in Mandarin.

I never stay up for the ball drop. I'm just too tired. I don't think I ever watch it.

Trying to slog through the mid 2000s Betty and Veronica stories (Issue 200 or so) to complete Betty and Veronica on comics.org. Poor Jeff Shultz. The stories aren't that great plot wise. Most of them just feature Betty and Veronica without any other characters.
Well, I've read #200. That was a pretty good story, I thought (Kathleen Webb, IIRC). I would say if they begin to get boring and repetitious after that... good possibility that they're Mike Pellowski stories?
Fun Fact: If you're reading an uncredited ACP story from the 1990s or early 2000s, and there's some minor incidental character in it named "Melanie" or "_______ Morgan", chances are pretty good that it's a Mike Pellowski story. Pellowski also wrote the Riverdale High prose novel series from 1992-1993, and adapted a bunch of them (under different titles) as the "New Look Archie Series", writing under the pseudonym Melanie J. Morgan. Since by this time he'd already written hundreds of comic stories for ACP, it's unknown why he employed a nom de plume for that series. Unless he was wary of the potential fan backlash, which in fact is exactly what ensued.

Where is there a collection of Valentine's Day stories, that's what I'd like to know. New Year's, 4th of July, Easter, and Thanksgiving don't particularly excite me too much as themes for Archie Comics stories.
http://www.comics.org/searchNew/?q=archie+valentine%27s+day&search_object=all
After sifting through that list on GCDb, and eliminating the listings for covers, letters or text pages, fan art, advertisements, stories featuring The New Archies, Little Archie, and L'il Jinx, and 1-page (or less) gag strips, plus multiple reprint appearances of the same story, I pared down that listing to 15 actual stories, the longest of which is the recent 10-page "That's Some Val-entine!" (Part 3 of "The Many Loves of Archie Andrews", featuring Valerie Smith of the Pussycats, from B&VDD #239, Feb. 2016). The rest are 5 or 6-pagers. For a company that has published 75 years worth of stories about teenagers, a large percentage of which involve dating in some way, that seems like a ridiculously low number of Valentine's Day stories (one of those, by the way, is a Sabrina story). Of course, the percentage of Archie Comics stories that have been indexed on GCDb is ridiculously low to begin with, compared to other publishers like DC and Marvel, but still...
There are also some digital collections that may apply to Valentine's Day. I think one is called Sweethearts. I will look into jt closer to V day.
