I will get the Archie coloring book. It will be fun. I was into coloring for awhile but I got so busy with work. Hopefully the designs aren't too intricate and they still to the Classic Archie style. Archie comics never was too detailed.

Reggie 80 pager you can still pre-order on Comixology and Amazon. Due out 11/30. Maybe they just made it digital only.

I like Tula's cover for Archie although I'm not really as excited about variant covers as I used to be because this series is losing my interest. The art in the last issue #14 was bad again after #13 being a nice respite from the previous art team. It just looked hurried, like they didn't have enough time to smooth the pencil marks and the inking was bad.

Lopresti's cover for Archie #17 looks very 80's. And Cheryl looks like the "attractive teacher" and older than everybody else.

I like the Josie diamond cover. On Anwar's B cover, the inking in their faces is too heavy handed.

Jughead I'm not that into since Sabrina's gone but I'll probably still read it. Same for Reggie. I will read it but not buy it.

Riverdale I will check out because I like the variant covers Alitha Martinez has done. Below I like the covers where Veronica is wearing the fur coat and the black Josies.

I could've sworn there was a Riverdale one shot with a whole bunch of other covers. What happened to that? Is this new Riverdale a miniseries or ongoing?

Yay. Return of the Super Special Magazine. Hopefully they will have more themed ones like Christmas.

The Josie 80 pager I'll get just because it's Josie even though they are reprinting the first appearance AGAIN...grrr.

As far as digests, I'll probably stick to Betty and Veronica. Maybe WOA if it has a lot of snow/wintery themed stories.

I wonder when these brand new lead stories will run out? How many more are left? When does ACP plan to stop publishing brand new Classic Archie stories and possibly the digests as well?

I'd much rather talk about Betty and Veronica than Donald Trump. I come here to get away from all that stuff.

It would be fine with me if Adam Hughes went more sexy with B&V. I just want the writing to improve. Make it more zippy and funny like Cameron is doing on the Josie title.

ARCHIE'S STORY & GAME DIGEST #16
JUGHEAD DOUBLE DIGEST #16
LAUGH COMICS DIGEST #16

After I found those first two digests at my LCS, I noticed that they were both #16, and pulled the third one out of my collection (one of the oldest digests I own, and I don't really collect LAUGH digest, it's the only one I have). That made me wonder how many other #16 issues of digests I own so I checked and here are the ones I found:

ARCHIE & FRIENDS DOUBLE DIGEST #16
ARCHIE'S FUNHOUSE DOUBLE DIGEST #16
JUGHEAD & ARCHIE DOUBLE DIGEST #16
JUGHEAD & FRIENDS DIGEST #16
TALES FROM RIVERDALE DIGEST #16

That is the longest list of digest titles that I own the same issue number of, and it will probably be a long time until I own more digest titles of a different issue number.

Is #16 the last issue of the series?

This is like the case of Archie's TV Laugh Out #106.

I think it was a mistake to have Adam Hughes as writer. I wish they had chosen a female writer and made the comic girlie. The colors are a bit muted but I think that's because he's so obsessed with fall in the issue and the colors were chosen to match that theme. I love dogs but I'm not getting the humor having Hot Dog narrate. It's just creepy.

I've read each issue once. I put it away in its plastic coffin and don't think about it too much. I think B&V are better friends in the B&V and Jughead series as opposed to the Archie series were they seem like sworn enemies. Mr. Lodge comes across as more evil in the Archie series.

Metaphors: Pop's represents Classic Archie and StarLodge the new Riverdale.

As for Veronica campaigning for the big chain...rich people do things because they can. She wants to show her power.

My favorite ACP series right now: Josie (except the 1st issue was way better than the 2nd) and surprisingly Jughead. I hope they keep Sabrina in the series or better yet give her her own series. I also liked Cheryl in the Archie series.

Didnt go to the comic book store but we ended up going to dollar tree and i found 6 OPI NAIL POLISHES for $1 each. i am in shock. we then went to another dollar tree but it was a waste of time, they had two i already brought and one opened which was one i had brought earlier. Then we went back to his house for a bit. His mom wanted me to stay for dinner. its hard to talk to his parents because they dont know much english so i asked my boyfriend to thank them for dinner later for me when they get home

What language do they speak?

Archie #13 - this series is taking a new turn. I really like the boarding school/Mean Girls storyline with Cheryl.

WORLD OF ARCHIE JUMBO COMICS #63 came in the mail today and I read it. It has a great Halloween party-themed cover by Dan Parent (originally slated to appear on the Halloween issue of ARCHIE' FUNHOUSE DOUBLE DIGEST from last year, before that title was downgraded from 10 times per year to 6 times per year -- so it's good it finally got to see the light of day). NO new lead story in this issue. Instead, the issue leads off with a decent Dan Parent-written (and Dan DeCarlo-pencilled) Veronica story that sort of fits into the Halloween theme. There's also the conclusion of the 4-part DeFalco/Ruiz "Man From R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E." story, and another 22-pager both written and drawn by Fernando, which has a Halloween theme, too (I swear I've read this one somewhere before, but I can't recall where), and another Halloween-themed story where Chuck Clayton creates a new comic feature for the school paper called Monster High (years before the multi-million dollar franchise was a gleam in the eye of toy designers at Mattel). Apart from a couple of stories that only vaguely fit the seasonal theme, that's about it. Surprisingly, after so many months of being absent from the Jumbo Comics, the "From the Vault" section makes a return appearance with reprints of Archie stories from the fifties (both the time frame of original publication, and the issue numbers reprinted). Also of note, I think I counted something like 13 or 14 pages of Reggie stories (all one-pagers, apart from a single 6-page story) spread throughout the issue. The rest of the issue was fairly mediocre, and percentage-wise, this didn't feel all that Halloween-y either.

I'm thinking of letting my subscriptions to both the ARCHIE and WORLD OF ARCHIE digests run out, rather than renewing. I'm just growing bored with them lately. I guess I'll keep going with the JUGHEAD AND ARCHIE and ARCHIE'S FUNHOUSE digests, since they're only bi-monthly, and of course both B&V digests.

What happened to the Life With Archie reprints in WOA?

Fresh Romance is coming next. I really want to read that book. It looks great.

I've read it. It's ok. My favorite is Ruined the Jane Austen like romance.
