There are a lot of cultural artifacts that are generated and have almost no meaning or worth to people ie click bait articles on the interwebs. What I think is a most interesting job is being a curator of culture and picking out what is the most meaningful or enjoyable things for others. I think it's important to preserve Archie's history which is why I'm logging as many comics as I can on comics.org.

Kennel Block Blues 1-4: I probably shouldnt've read this as a pet owner. Issue #3 just about killed me it was so sad.  :'( First time a comic made me cry. I loved the juxtaposition between reality and the song and dance the dog made up to deal with the harsh reality.

Re-reading Finding Molly issues 1 and 2 in preparation for issue 3.

More Laugh issues. A lot of the Mighty Archie Art Players stories are reprinted in the Pals N Gals digests. There's a parody of Back to the Future in Laugh #22.

Harrow County #12 - they unfortunately changed the artist again. I miss the watercolors which really work with the story. I liked the idea of the possessed doll though.

Sell the company to Disney.
They already own Marvel ... would not be good for Archie — better off with IDW ...

I'll agree as far as better off with IDW ... but at this point Disney couldn't do any worse.

Why is Disney doing bad?

I had a hard time following the new Jughead stories. I thought they were confusing compared to reboot Archie which is easy to follow. I may have to read them though since Ryan North is saying he's continuing with the same story.

Continuity could mean a continuous storyline across multiple issues. Consistency could mean the same 5 page comedic stories with a clear resolution at the end--- basically the old Archie. When you picked up a digest, you knew pretty much what you were getting i.e. comfort food.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #1 - Alright first issue. The tone was a bit affected. I wonder if it gets better.

Thanks. I'll check it out. Wynonna has a comic too doesn't she?
Yes, from IDW — Originally a very '90s comic from Image (5 issues, 1995) it was revived by IDW in 2002 with a trade of the original run and a limited series "Home on the Strange"  ... then another in 2009 which were basically connected. Currently she's halfway through a 6 issue series, but it is essentially from the TV show which sort of a reboot — like iZombie — in this case a few more names are the same, but the plot and character are more developed and essentially different ... "inspired by" you might say ...
QuoteI still might check out The Walking Dead. I just haven't been in the mood for death and destruction. But it's extremely popular so that makes me curious.
My friend who has a LCS says that the audience for TWD appears to be much more heavily female than nearly any other major book — not because it's in any way targeting the demographic, it just is ...

I started reading The Walking Dead. I've read the first 3 issues so far. It definitely likes to end on cliffhangers to keep you reading. As far as being "heavy" and stressful it's not too bad so far. The zombies are drawn more comical than scary. Maybe the females like the family man aspect or maybe they just think Glenn is hot.  :smitten:

The Walking Dead #1-3: very good so far. Each issue ends on a cliffhanger.

Archie #8: a succinct and satisfying issue. The storytelling is getting better. I'm glad they ditched the 1940s reprints for Samm Schwartz instead.

The Mindy Project. I forgot how funny this show is.  :2funny:

Ok I borrowed my grandma's library card to try this. She is part of a library system available to about 700,000 people in Ohio. 372 Archie titles are available. You can read them online on the Hoopla website and also can download them to an iPad and read them offline. I guess Ohioans just like Archie more than Chicagoans.  :crazy2:

I like all the covers but Audrey Mok's is my favorite.

I can't wait for this. I think ACP is finally listening to the fans. We complained about Erica ad nauseum and they changed the artist. Sabrina has always been a fan favorite and they're putting her in a story. They won't drop the whole reboot idea but at least now they are putting some fan ideas in it.

Erica may have gotten too expensive and ACP couldn't afford her anymore but I think the real reason is complaints about Erica's art and low sales. I'm not sure why they dropped Chip but I suspect because he has too many other projects or is too expensive. I suppose they could have planned all along to only do so many issues with this team but if the comic was really doing well I suspect they would've renegotiated their contract and kept them on. Usually the artists change frequently just to give artists a break but writers seem to stay. Writers are also way more prolific than comic artists maybe because it takes less time to write than draw.
