  • Tuxedo Mark: I'm beginning to think AWA and CHAoS are cancelled, because Archie Comics sent me Jughead: The Hunger #1 as part of my AWA sub.

  • DeCarlo Rules: @TM - "They" is Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Just him. HE's the writer of both AWA and ChAoS. It's HIS story. He only writes an issue when his muse inspires him. Plus he's kinda busy being the showrunner and one of the head writers for RIVERDALE, which ACP probably considers a little more important. And from Sacasa's POV, I know television work must pay a helluvalot better than writing comic books. Especially if they're comic books published by ACP. Could someone else write those horror comics? Sure, if ACP's Chief Creative Officer decided to assign the books to someone else. At that point sales would probably just nosedive anyway, so what's the point? Better to let other writers make up their own horror stories using ACP characters.

There was a great #Riverdale tweet tonight that went something like "Hi Midge... Bye Midge..."

The Blossom parents seemed so creepy throughout the season that I really didn't think that they would go there. I mean, they seemed a bit too obvious as potential suspects, but I was wrong.

Joaquin will probably return midway through Season 2 with Grundy at his side!  ;D

The whole Blossom/Cooper related thing didn't hold a lot of water for me. I come from a town -- a family even -- with people just as related to the spouse as Polly and Jason. It'd feel legal in any of the states. Seemed tenuous...

It's a five issue book. I just checked. We're only done tgrough issue #3 right now.

The comic book characters are more like templates for the TV show. At most, Polly is a year older than Betty in this TV show.

I wonder if it will be in July 2017 Solicitations? And I hope it's a comic not a digital one.

According to the article,  it will be published both in print and online.

Ah yes. "Political correctness." The term one uses to dismisss complaints of rudeness or negativity. No matter. Be as negative as you want.

Things I enjoyed about the episode:

1. The Cheryl/Veronica dance off! I like how Cheryl is losing her queen bee status. She fired Tina and Ginger. Which made me wonder: Do you think they pull a friendship salary from her? Wouldn't be unheard of.

2. Learning that Alice was once a Southside Serpent. That lady has secrets. She's also got keen instincts. She's the only one wondering why a Southside Serpent (Joaquin) would date the sherriff's son. Good question!

3. The truth or truth game was also fun at the party. It was good to get some of those secrets out in the open. And Veronica still managed to knock Cheryl down a few pegs. And good on Jughead for fighting back for Betty against Chuck!

Plus Veronica's got her pearls back again!

Fun stuff. Fun party. Looking forward to Molly Ringwald in two weeks!

I really enjoyed this latest episode. Though Molly Ringwald's contribution was too short.

Nobody will forget that you hate the show. You never quit talking about it. Stop being such a buzz-kill for those who want to discuss the show. Please. I mean, start another thread. Contribute to another thread. Talk about the stuff that you like instead of bringing down threads by others about things that they like.

I found an old copy of "Uncle Tom's Cabin" at my parents' home this weekend. It belonged to my dad when he was a young boy back in the 50s. It occurred to me that I've never read it and decided to check it out. I'll start reading it later tonight or tomorrow.

All About Archie / First Appearance of Little Kevin?
« on: April 08, 2017, 03:15:37 PM »
I was just reading the LITTLE ARCHIE AND HIS PALS one-shot comic book and noticed Kevin Keller in it.

So was this the first appearance of Little Kevin in Archie Comics?

Kevin Keller/Catfish Joe
Kevin/Jason
Archie/Amisha/Valerie

The big news today is that "at least one major Riverdale resident" is going to be killed off in Archie #20 and the identity of that character will be revealed in Archie #21.

Archie #20 will feature a drag race between Archie and Reggie on Dead Man's Curve. In #21, the people of Riverdale will learn that someone will die in that drag race!!

Will it be Archie Andrews? Maybe Kevin Keller wanders onto the street and Archie jumps out his own vehicle to save his friend from death!!

Will it be Reggie Mantle? Maybe Riverdale's resident bad-boy will swerve to avoid Hot Dog or Vader and hit a tree!!

Or maybe one of them will hit another Riverdale regular!! Moose... Midge... Dilton... Jason... Cheryl... Jellybean... Mr. Weatherbee... Ms. Grundy... Mr. or Mrs. Andrews...

Who do you think will die in this upcoming storyline?

Personally, I think it would be more of a game-changer in multiple ways if one of the boys lost a parent (or both) as a result of their drag race.
