I really liked Life with Kevin. We need more "young adult" comics like that available. The 20 something making it in the city plot was interesting. Your Pal Archie was just ok for me.
Actually, now that I've given a little thought to my impression of Life With Kevin, and how the series ended (with Kevin moving away from the city), what I'd rather see than more Life With Kevin is a spinoff -- Life With Veronica, focusing on Veronica and Shrill as roommates, trying to make it in New York. (With the traditional full-color palette, please!)
The way I see it the first issue would have to focus on Veronica finding a way out of her dead-end waitressing job(s), as in "when the going gets tough, the tough get going". She finally can't take it any more, and gets fired up and brings a little of the old Lodge entrepreneurial savvy to the fore, creating her own opportunities. Veronica should be using her natural charisma, style, and self-confidence, and whatever business sense she's been able to acquire from her father, to sell other people on herself and her big ideas.
"...You might just make it after all....!"
AND of course, much more of Shrill -- I always thought she had a lot of potential as a character, so let's get to see it.
Hey Everybody! All right!! Congrats, Mr. Ruiz! 😁 I hope this means you're back? 🤗
I've drawn my very first Archie story in almost TWO years!
This is a very special Archie story entitled "KINDNESS WORKS!" You can check out a little preview with my pencils to a few of the pages and find out more details here:

Why? Because she's the only person capable of getting the best of Jughead?I think she gets too much the best of Jughead. Trula seems to do no wrong with him, completely crippling Jughead, seemingly almost all the time. Then again, Jughead allows himself to let her really get in his head, and he gets riled up, which makes it worse...
She outwits him. She seems to be the only one who can. When she's not, then it's business as usual. Which means Jughead Jones outwitting everyone else. Seems only fair. It prevents Jughead from getting too complacent and smug in his own superiority. A little humility is good for the soul.
And if you read the stories closely, she really isn't the Machiavellian she-demon Jughead imagines her to be. He obviously fascinates her because he's different, but at the same time he's so sure of himself, that no one can make him change or do anything he doesn't want to. He just seems to invite toppling from his position as the king of the hill. Sometimes it almost seems like in a weird way, she's doing it for his own good.
And other times, she does... nothing at all. She doesn't have to, because he's so obsessed by his perception of her.
There's no doubt about her motives, actually. She admits in one of her earliest appearances that she's "just wild about him". She's not going to do the "chasing" thing or try to work her "feminine wiles" on him, because she quickly realizes his Achilles' Heel is his attitude towards women in general. I might as well just come right out and say it. Jughead is sexist. He's never met a woman he considers his equal. Oh, he may LIKE Betty, but he doesn't consider her his equal. Veronica's buttons are just too easily labeled for him to resist pushing. Ethel's only challenge to him is her persistence and physical stamina. Beyond that, Jughead considers himself above anyone who displays any emotional weakness for the opposite sex (men OR women) and considers himself invulnerable. Trula wins because she eschews any challenge that meets his expectations. She won't try anything "feminine" that he's expecting. She'll only duel him in the one area which he considers an exclusively masculine domain -- pure intelligence. The ability to "size up your opponent", analyze their weaknesses, and predict their reactions. Jughead's been doing it to Reggie and Veronica for years, which is why nothing galls him more than to be on the receiving end. And while he may swear up and down that she's evil personified, he actually respects her on some unconscious level that he refuses to recognize.

All About Archie / Re: 'Riverdale' Adds Vanessa Morgan as Bisexual Archie Comics Character Toni Topaz« on: July 24, 2017, 02:15:17 am »
"Toni Topaz is a character who was added on a little more recently in the comic books and she's always been very, very vivacious, exciting and a bit of a disrupter."
Yeah in all of two stories and the gazillion covers she was on that didn't include her in a single panel.
At least tell me they have casted a Midge.

FINALLY, you get it. Stop wasting our time with this nonsense.
Just a quick note for everyone. With the latest update to the forum software, I have switched the site over to use https (secure) URLs instead of plain http. You shouldn't notice much difference (though you'll now see a green lock and "Secure" next to the URL in Google Chrome and similar things in other browsers), but this will enhance security, especially where usernames and passwords are concerned. If you have any questions or run into any problems, let me know.

Telling ACP readers the truth? That's a novel concept. Maybe it will catch on. Or not.
Archie Comics' PR department is pretty much North Korean state media at this point.

I agree re: Little Archie. The book was cute and fun when they were acting like little kids and going on adventures but once it started dealing with romantic hijinks, what was even the point of having Little Archie stories if they were just going to end up like the main title?
Personally, I don't really hate any ships except for something awful like minor/adult. I'm not fond of Archie/Veronica or Reggie/Veronica because I don't find them particularly interesting.
My favorite canon couple is Archie/Valerie, pretty much the only relationship in Archie Comics with any depth.
Semi-canon, I like Reggie/Betty, the shippers on this forum really made me appreciate this pairing. They were fun together when they were scheming to keep Archie and Veronica apart.
Before the reboot I would have wanted to see Veronica paired up with one of the new kids, either Lonnie (Lonnie and Ronnie, how quaint) because he was a rich kid like her but a lot more down to earth, so I think he would have been good for her, or with Danny D'Angelo because I think he would be a good foil for Veronica.
Of course my main ship is Jughead/Veronica. They would make the WORST couple but it would be entertaining to behold.
Reminds me of this:
It's hilarious! It talks about the "lust-filled" Archie comics of the 70's...
What's stupid about it? I'm just stating facts as I see them. Shit is shit, internet friend. But if you are really upset about my opinion, here's a form you can fill out:
