Archie's Friends / Re: Jughead's magic hat pin

I'm still considering writing a Jughead/Trula story as a spinoff to the "Married Life" Veronica universe.

Trula at Jughead/Ethel wedding at Pop's.....

The prices of the digests going up hasn't helped. The quality of the new stories is really down. I barely recognized some of the characters in the most recent ones. They looked liked rush jobs at best. Has the time for Archie comics finally come to pass?

Also, what is the fascination with Dan Parent? I've never been the least impressed with his pencil work. His characters took to generically drawn. As far as I'm concerned, Fernando Ruiz should have not been fired. His work is way better than Dan.

Sure the Parent defenders will be here to bash but I really don't care.

Yuck. There's enough superhero junk polluting the landscape as it is..... :buck2:

OK, I have to ask. Josie has always been White. On Riverdale, she's Black. Why?  ???
At least it's not another Dan Parent generic slop job who is barely one step above Erica Henderson.
At the time I thought the original Archie - The Married Life was (and still is) one of the best series to come out there other than the classic stuff. I was forward to the this and boy, was I disappointed.

I know the Dan Parent apologists will skin me but I don't care.

I think the story and art on this absolutely stinks and doesn't hold a candle to the original.

Don't even get me started on Archie '55.

I love the stories between Archie vs Mr Lodge  / Archie vs Mr Weatherbee. I'm surprised he hasn't put those 2 into an early grave.

Also - Reggie vs Moose

I enjoy it when he really beats the crap out of him.

Reggie knows Midge is dating Moose but he still tries to get his hand down her pants. Is he suicidal, stupid, clueless or his head talks too much?

It doesn't help that Midge sometimes leads him on. Whats her deal? I don't think too much of her because of that.
Don't give them any ideas. The ones they have are bad enough for now. :buck2:

Also that's not Trula Twyst on the above cover. I've seen so many like her but not actually her. I know because I have a thing for her. :smitten:

Also my opinion on the artwork lately is just my own and I know not many will agree and I'm okay with that.  :)
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I always thought the art in the new digest covers and stories was 'below par' at best.  :P

I've noticed that the newer stories drawn is the past several years in the digests look awful and cheap as opposed in the past.

We need a new Trula story by Rex.

In my past few posts, I've been teasing about a couple of projects I was involved in that I wasn't free to discuss. I still can't talk about some of them but one very special project is all ready to be revealed and is now available for purchase to fans everywhere.

Last year, I drew "Kindness Works," my very first Archie story in two years. "Kindness Works" is a very special story dealing with autism and introduces Scarlet, the very first autistic Archie character. Now Scarlet is back in a brand new four page story entitled, "Straw Thinking." The brainchild of Archie Comics co-CEO, Nancy Silberkleit, "Straw Thinking" has an environmental message and talks about the ecological ramifications of plastic straws.
