All About Archie / Deja Vu
April 14, 2017, 09:24:14 PM
One of my pleasures in collecting Archie Comics is finding those I call the Deja Vu issues. It is a fairly usual practice for Archie Comics to use covers from the Golden Age to repeat in the Silver Age. Usually the same gag and cast with some updates in the look. I think the theory was that the average enthusiasm for comic fans was 10 years or less, so there was no need not to recycle a good cover with some updates. Here is Pep 72 from March 1949 and Archie 120 from June 1961.

General Discussion / Dover Boys #2
November 01, 2016, 03:19:03 AM
I think I may have been hunting for a comic that might not exist. Was there ever a second issue of the Adventures of the Dover Boys #2 in 1950? Overstreet lists it, but I have never seen a copy for sale or a picture of the cover.

Has anyone come across this book or know if there is no such beast?

Welcome/Introductions / Merry Martian arrives!

Well.....nice to be here and see what fellow Archie comics enthusiasts are  finding interesting. I'm a collector of all Golden Age and Silver Age Archie titles. Anyone here have more than a passing interest in Suzie, Ginger, Wilbur, Super Duck, Sam Hill, Cosmo and any of the other classic titles as well as Archie and the gang? I started out as a "type" collector a and wanted one copy of each different Archie Comics titles. Kept finding titles I enjoyed and expanded to filling in runs of the titles.

I have a lot of esoteric titles and interests in the Archie world, but I'm not sure this forum would find it all that interesting if the focus is geared more to current and recent issues. Just wanted to drop in and at least say hello.
