i think in the world of archie another teenage misadventures book just would have gone unnoticed

they didn't even dig them up when they got their own movie!

They had a good run in Archie and Friends around the time of the movie.
that doesn't really compare to the strength of having them as the lead characters in a book

it's been 23 years since a Josie And The Pussycats Comic Book Series was available....

How was it?
it was cool although kinda cheesy at some parts because it's trying to imitate that 80's horror vibe in a sense

i got to watch the second episode without waiting a week because they advertised their own network app as having the second episode ready to go for anyone who wants to keep watching

Other Media / Archie's Weird Mysteries
June 29, 2016, 09:59:33 PM
Back on the old forums we used to have this topic about archie's weird mysteries and all of it's episodes

I'm making another one because it deserves it as the last cartoon centered around the riverdale gang and probably the most interesting one as it was the first foray into An Exclusively Supernatural Focused Archie Series(this was long before Afterlife With Archie Became A Thing)

it didn't help that it aired on a network unknown to Most (PAX...which is now known as ION Television and now only dabbles in Reruns of shows made famous by other networks)

since comics are a visual medium it's not hard to see why archie comics isn't discussed all that much   they don't do a lot of stuff that makes great use of comic books being pure eye candy

a lot of indie books and superhero comics do things that would be impossible to imagine on television or a movie

archie however....since it's always been typical teen drama  the visuals haven't been as "OMG!" or "Breathtaking"

it takes place near the end of the 80's and has a bit of friday the 13th vibe going for it

i wouldn't put an end to the CW Series as Archie Comics needs whatever publicity it can get....they aren't marvel they don't have mega movie projects and they aren't DC with their Loads Of TV Based Projects

You Ask the average person about the riverdale gang and they won't know what your talking about

their brand of humor and way of storytelling had become far too outdated to keep up with the mainstream heavy hitters

I'd hire better writers. Even some of the most talked about issues of recent times did not have strong stories.

Such as? Mark Waid? Chip Zdarsky?

I don't really know much about who the good writers in today's comic book world are. But I would like someone who can create good slapstick comedy, and teen romance.

problem is slapstick comedy isn't that popular in the modern age and teen romance has become worn out from all the teen drama's that were on television

it's hard to get most comic readers to care about a horny redhead boy's mission to try and have two girlfriends

it just seems bizarre that archie would hire someone with no comic credits...or any writing credits at all

the person co-writing alongside Bennett doesn't seem to have any prior comic credits to their name...any idea who this cameron Deordio is?

The last couple of issues of DC Comics Bombshells have left me struggling. I love the premise, so I'm loathe to completely give up on it, but I don't stress much about picking up issues as they come out. The Archie reboot has me on the fence, but I'll probably stick with it. I guess I'm stubborn that way. ;)

are you gonna get the latest issue of Harley's Little Black Book? it involves Harley Quinn somehow getting transported to the bombshells universe and encountering her bombshells universe self

I haven't been reading Harley's series, so I didn't know about that. It could be interesting, though. I may have to check it out. Thanks!

yeah Harley's little black book is a team up series that ships out once every two months alongside her solo book

it's basically a bunch of single issue stories where Harley Quinn teams up with a random dc hero

constant delays with no news as to why they happen and when issues will actually start coming out on a regular schedule.....it's enough to make fans just drop out completely

so what's the point in archie doing this when even their grand hit afterlife with archie doesn't see more than one issue a year at best?

seen a lot of mixed opinions about Bennet's writing

How so? I know for myself I tried DC Bombshells but despite the beautiful art I just couldn't get into it because of so many competing storylines. Does anyone read/like that series on here?

as in some people liked her on angela at marvel while others couldn't stand her writing anything
