I am excited about the Supernatural episode that is going to air on Thursday, the 18th. What makes it special is, its the backdoor pilot for a new spin-off, Wayward Sisters. The sneak peak and mini trailer has me excited!

Watching Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Season 1. And I am loving it! Why have I never watched it before?! I have been thirsting for awesome nuanced female characters on TV, and there are so many of them in this series. And that Sully is such a babe!

All About Archie / Re: Makeout Locations in the Comics?
November 01, 2017, 06:01:03 AM
Passion Point. It's a makeout location up on a small hill or something, I think. Jughead was once forced by B&V to take a girl up there on a date; the girl logically believed they were there for some intimate time, and when Jughead refused to pucker up, she chased him all around the place.

A nemesis/arch-rival for Kevin Keller, with whom KK would have a sizzling love-hate chemistry. In my head I call this character Rico. He would be quite the Casanova, and convinced that any gay, bi or questioning male must fall for his charms. He would have two or three minions who hang on his every word. He would be the last word in style. He would be witty, sarcastic, seductive. In short, Rico would be everything KK is not.
I love that idea, but I wouldn't want Rico to be too overbearing and pressuring on anyone including Kevin. To me that just send the wrong message about the gay community and gay people. Not to change your perspective on Rico I would have Rico still the Casanova who loves himself and feels he is super charming(sort f like Reggie in that way).

I don't think giving a gay character some flaws or negative traits would send the wrong message about the community. Flawed characters are usually more popular. And I think Archie Comics tried playing it too safe with Kevin Keller, and made him too perfect and vanilla. Someone like Rico could be a nice foil for him.

And of course, the whole thing would be done in an exaggerated cartoony slapstick style, like the awesome Archie stories of earlier eras. Characters can behave outrageously in that kind of comic book stories.  ;)

I'd hire better writers. Even some of the most talked about issues of recent times did not have strong stories.

Such as? Mark Waid? Chip Zdarsky?

I don't really know much about who the good writers in today's comic book world are. But I would like someone who can create good slapstick comedy, and teen romance.

Actually, I think it would be funny if they made her last name MacGuffin. Midge MacGuffin, doesn't sound too bad. XD

The one and only Jughead Jones. He is the character I identify most with. I love that he marches to the beat of his own drums. And he is such a versatile character. (I think I already said this on another thread) He can be as wise as Yoda, as manipulative as Machiavelli. He is loyal, funny, quirky, and probably the most intelligent of them all. I especially love the Jughead characterization from the Samm Schwartz era; in a lot of those stories, Jug was both the hero and the villain.

Another great thing about Jughead is that, he has got awesome and unique chemistry with all the other characters. He is Archie's faithful friend, guide, philosopher, and mooch. He is Betty's confidant and cheerleader. He is Reggie's nemesis. He has got this crazy love-hate thing going on with Veronica. You can put Jughead in any story.

If they played this like the film this story is based on Jug and Ron would have ended up together. As an aside, I like George Bernard Shaw's original ending that subsequent adaptions ignored better though.

I am a big fan of that play, and Shaw's original ending.

YES!  ;D It was so progressive for its time too. Eliza decides to be independent of Higgins realizing if she stays she will have to be subservient to him and marries Freddy instead so she can be the boss in the relationship. It's a shame contemporary attitudes prevailed and Eliza staying with Higgins is considered the "happy" ending.

Shaw was quite disappointed that the play became such a commercial success. Poor man, he had to fight everyone to preserve the integrity of his heroine. I think I am glad he did not live to see the 1964 adaptation.
