Somewhat off topic, but shouldn't Fernando and Dan and whomever they're collaborating with have their own podcast where they talk about current projects & stuff?

Its a nice idea but both Dan and I have our hands full.
Ain't full with Archie storyboards and scripts, but I understand...

You must be the Ambassador of Etiquette and Finesse on this board.
I was being sincere.  As a long time comics fan I sorely miss when a favorite creator is taken off a project.  Kirby, Thomas, Gerber, Moench, Buscema, Grell, Sienkiewicz, Mort Walker, and on and on.  My comment was not meant as a dig or a slight.  I genuinely miss your contribution to the Archie world.  I'm unhappy with many of the choices and creative direction(s) ACP has gone in recent years.  I was only trying to "speak" in my own casual manner.  My apologies for being unclear.

I'm waiting to get my haircut at beauty palor now.
Women have "beauty parlors", men only have places like "easy-cheap-simple cuts".  No "Handsome parlor" or somesuch.  Come to think of it, the last few "parlors" I've visited have been raided by the Fuzz. Men are always getting short shrift.   #mensgroomingrights.

:)

Well, but you guys have Barber Shops, so... :coolsmiley:
Yep, Barber Shops.  Me and the crew hang out sipping coffee, discussing haberdashery and the latest Nike colorways, telling tales about the honeys, puffing blunts and playing dominoes.  It's just like you see in the movies.  Every month or so some dude even gets a haircut.

Excluding Archie and any of the Riverdale Gang, who are your favorite MLJ/Archie Comics characters from the 40s, 50s, and/or 60s?
Jon, this is a tough question. I probably want to say Shield, but I'd rather read a Super Duck comic, so SD it is.  It'd be nice to see this question as a poll with maybe ten choices and allowing for maybe three answers.  I'm sure I'm forgetting a character.

It's funny that they never mentioning Mr. Weatherbee having a wife before. He has no children. Just a niece named Wendy & a twin brother named Tony who is Wendy's father. I wonder if we even see Wendy in Jughead title or even in Archie's title? When we ever see Ethel or Trula again?
Mr. Weatherbee has had a wife before on at least two occasions(as I recall)in classic Archie.  You'll have to give me time to dig those stories out.

I was shocked to see another picture of Ms. Gundy & Archie getting intimate. Oh boy . What if the show showed either Betty or Veronica with Mr. Weatherbee. And they were romantically involved? I'm surprised no artist ever drew that as a commission.

Well, I take it you've never bing'd "Betty And Veronica Porn"?
You reminded me of B-ko(Biollante) and the fantastic photoshopped Archie covers that had been posted here over the years.  I miss those.  :(

Quote from: DeCarlo Rules on August 02, 2016, 08:51:00 PMIt did make me wonder what an Archie reboot done by Chynna Clugston might have been like. They should have asked her, or maybe someone like Bryan Lee O'Malley (SCOTT PILGRIM) or even Scott McCloud (ZOT!, UNDERSTANDING COMICS).
Sounds cool. I'll add Blue Monday to my pickup list this month.  A Scott McCloud Archie is intriguing.  I enjoyed Zot! and Eclipse in general. (DNAgents and I think Crossfire were favorites.)  Also, whatever happened to Cat Y.? Did she just retire from comics after the company shut down?  I first remember her as a prolific LOC contributor.

Maybe if it was a soft fleece blanket.
Yeah, it's. A 60-40 blend, so not even soft fleece.  The fringe and images are probably spiking the cost, as well as whoever thought this would be worth $53.00.  I wonder what the cost of producing the fringe is?  While it makes the blanket interesting, that little detail may have outpriced the market.

I concur with most of DCR's comments above, but want to give props to Adam's writing overall on the first issue.  Not as funny as Chip's Jughead, but the best first issue of the three reboots imo.

Yeah, I still think I'm going to lean slightly toward Chip Z's 1st issue of Jughead, as far as the writing, but point taken -- averaging out the writing and art together, B&V#1 is probably the best first issue so far. Maybe if Derek Charm had been the artist on Jughead from the outset, I'd still say Jughead #1. Hughes really has to pare down those wordy word balloons and concentrate on having some more things actually happen in 22 pages. There were places in there where it sort of felt like a chore to read it.
Yeah, I think the art on Jughead has been it's weak point. I have enjoyed Chip's stories, so no complaints there.  As for B&V being wordy, I'll re-read #1 in a day or so as it didn't really "feel" that way to me, and I'm usually sensitive to that stuff (i.e. Claremont). The pace and flow of the book was just fine for me.

I just found out I got a job as an election poll worker and I got my training class August 15th. I also got comic con tickets for the first day for New York Comic Con
I've done the poll worker thing before.  It's pretty fun if not tiring.  It was cool when i worked in my own neighborhood so as to meet people. The fifteen hours pay at minimum wage was just a bonus.   ;)

This is a variant cover i made for Betty and Veronica by Adam Hughes though not considered official i just made it by myself to show you guys what you think of it.

Glad to see you're still working on your art!  Keep at it.  Veronica's balled fists are a nice touch, and of course Betty's ponytail makes her identifiable.

🌴 2 Days  & 12 Hours & 55 Minutes & 48 Seconds till Archie #10 & Sabrina #6 which will comes out 7/27/16
I didn't notice this post until now, but my Sabrina #6 showed up this past Wednesday.  No Archie though.  The Sabrina was a pretty good origin story of how Salem became a cat.
