Other Media / Re: Archie's Weird Mysteries

I can't say that any really stuck out from the pack as it were, but that said they pack as a whole was way above average for that sort of cartoon/and era ...

I just realized that I got "distracted" and never actually answered this thread. so current on-going series  ...

• Lazarus — global politics and social & genetic engineering in a dystopian near future (also great story and characters)
• PS238 — story of an elementary school for the children of superheroes and other lids with "abilities" — and the kids (and their teachers) trying to cope;  a great mix of serious and fun with more plot, continuity and characterization than anything from Marvel or DC, and likeable characters as well even a lot of the villains ... (also available as a web comic)
• Raven The Pirate Princess & Princeless — 2 series, 1 world, though you'd hardly know it most of the time ...
• Tomboy — Not for everyone ... psychotic bloody vengeance & gore in the manga magical girl tradition ...
• Invincible — superhero done right ...
• Paper Girls — time travel weirdness at its best ...

Probably more ... DC & Marvel also have some good stuff, but too much backstory/sidestory to recommend ...
And just FYI I wasn't expecting to like the first 2 ... with Lazarus I read an issue and dropped for months but when I went back and tried it again I was hooked ... some of them take an effort to get going ...

Fernando Ruiz is my favorite Archie artist on all the major characters and even the secondary characters. Also the stuff Gisele did on the Reversedale issue and other work was absolutely amazing. Her distinct style really made those issues shine.
You're at the right place for sure — they both post here — have you seen Gisele's work at Pixie Trix comics? Great stuff (more adult though) and available as free web comics (though print editions are also sold) — you'd definitely find them worth the read I'd think.

Welcome — hoping your stay is a long and pleasant one  :)

Given your interests I'm curious if you are aware of the relationship that's been established in Afterlife with Archie between Ginger (Lopez) and Nancy?

Most likely to avoid the competition with Disney ...

At least we final get to see some more Dark Circle issues — plus Sabrina & Afterlife — which all sell well in the shops (given how irregular they are) ... if they don't put some effort into these they might as well just give up comics publishing completely ...

The 10th (last) page of the story is up now. New Arc starts in July.

Harper Lodge turned him down for Reggie.
Yeah, and poor, poor Archie still has a gazillion girls who are either after him, or that he's after. The one story I liked where Archie actually and REALLY was shot down was the one recent story where two New Kid (I don't recall who they were, please help me) girls conspired to get just about every girl in Riverdale to really give Archie H-E- double hockey sticks when he asked them out for dates to finish out his "list" because he ignored Betty being available for a date near the end of summer. Turns out that after he seemingly was beaten down, Betty wanted to go out with some other guy, and was dating other guys as well to finish out HER list! All of that was for nothing! No one really learned anything, much less Archie! Betty was no better! Why in the WORLD do any of The Triangle want to have boy/girlfriends if they want to Play the Field, too?
Archie #658 "Dating Drama" — Chloe Mancuso & Bobbi (both on the student paper w/Betty) were the ringleaders

I read Jughead #7 which I actually got from Archie Comics by mistake. My 6 issue subscription is over. On the label it said a Grace issue, I guess that means free. I can't wait to hang up on my wall.
Maybe to see if the new art style will tempt you to renew ...

That's the point of a lot of variants though - to get people to pay more for covers they like (possibly multiple times) ...

Oh yeah, I've seen here around. She's from Batman, right?  (I don't really read other comics, besides the cutesy ones  :-[ )
She started there, but she's pretty much her own thing now ... and she's had cutesy stuff  ::) ... in a psychotic, criminally insane kind of way ...  :idiot2:

Deadpool has been around and a big name for 20 years — she's Deadpool+sex, so you tell me ...
