Panel from an Archie Comics story. Betty, Veronica, Veronica's cousin Harper, and two other female friends walk into a ski lodge carrying overnight bags. The title reads: Betty and Veronica in Lodge of Terror. Veronica says they're going to have the perfect girls' getaway.
What happens when you go away to a spooky cabin in the woods on Friday the 13th? Find out in this week's WORLD OF BETTY & VERONICA DIGEST #38, and let's just say we're glad it's not us!

When Veronica decides the unlucky day is the perfect time to kick off a girls' weekend deep in the woods at the Lodge Lodge, things start off nice enough! But when the gang pops on a scary movie, they're soon jumping at every sound for fear of the dreaded Briar Witch. And to make things worse, the goings-on in the movie start to show up in real life. What happens next? Pick it up and read

I haven't been buying as much in the way of Archie comics lately because I've run out of room for them, but I subscribe to their digest box now (four digests every month, though you get them a couple months after they're released. It's still cheaper than buying them individually as they're released though). I got the following in the latest one:
Archie Jumbo Comics Digest #358
Archie Milestones Jumbo Comics Digest #26 (Jughead Winter Wonderland)
Betty and Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #332
World of Betty and Veronica Jumbo Comics Digest #38

Announcements / New Gallery
March 09, 2025, 11:58:33 PM
As some of you may have noticed recently, the gallery ("media") was no longer working. The addon I was using is no longer developed, so rather than try to work around/fix the issues (or hope that the developer of that addon would be willing to help), I switched to a different one. All of the items from the old gallery have been imported into the new one, though there was a problem importing the view counts. Let me know if you have any issues/questions :)

I'm not familiar with any of the characters. I've heard of the Clerks films and of course Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back but that's about it. I might pick this up anyway as it sounds interesting.

I wonder what it would take to get the company to bring back the full-size comics with 3-4 new stories. Those were so much more fun than a digest full of reprints with one or two stories in there. As much as I like seeing the older stuff, it would be nice to have a book of all new material as well.

Announcements / Re: Upgrade
February 12, 2022, 05:27:28 PM
Site has been upgraded again...

Forum upgraded to 2.1.1 (I waited so long after 2.1 RC4 was released that 2.1 final was released a few days later, then 2.1.1 to fix a bug with older PHP versions)
Portal upgraded to 2.2.0

Should be the last major upgrade for a while.

Site has been upgraded to 2.1 RC4. The orange theme currently doesn't work with the new version of the forum so I've switched everyone to the default theme for now. I'll put the other one back once it's been updated.

I still subscribe to one of the digests but that's about it. I don't buy much beyond that mainly because I don't have a lot of space to put them all at the moment (need to invest in some longboxes and get things more organized than large piles of comic books on my bookshelf and other areas).

I'm not sure where everyone disappeared to unfortunately. I know a lot of people are active in the Archie Comics group on Facebook, so it could be that.

Feedback/Support / Re: Safari Issue

Unfortunately I don't have any Apple devices so I can't test it myself, but I'll take a look at it when I get a chance and see if I can figure it out.

Site has been upgraded to SMF 2.1 RC3. This version mostly fixes a bunch of bugs, but also includes a few new things to comply with GDPR - support for a privacy policy (if/when I enable that you'll get a screen saying you have to agree to it before you can continue using the forum) and the ability to download a copy of your profile data (go to your profile and you'll see the option under the "Actions" menu).
