Yeah, Erica Henderson has two problems:

1.  She draws like a chimp with brain damage.  The fact she even has a career is a joke in and of itself.  Some people went to the Joe Kubert School to learn how to draw comic books.  She went to the Stevie Wonder School of Comic Book Art.

2.  She has low self esteem due to being a fat ugly cow, but instead of dealing with it like normal people do, she forces it on other people with her art and labels her displaced anxieties as "feminism" (short version: she comes from Tumblr).  This ignores the fact that people read fantasy cartoon books to look at good looking drawings of people, not to look at people that look like Erica Henderson.

In Jughead #2 Chip refers to the Archie series.

You can tell when an artist is ugly when she makes her female characters look like neanderthals to compensate.

It's shit.

    It's stupid comments like this that make using the Internet much less enjoyable than it should be.  No one gains anything from such a comment.   I think all of the changes from the comic books (there are many) are a mistake, but the show is still fairly interesting.  Veronica, in particular, is well acted.  I could not pass up the chance to see these characters on TV, in any case. I regret the overall serious tone.  I wish there were a lot more humor.
    If nothing else, the actors make great photographs (screen caps).

What's stupid about it?  I'm just stating facts as I see them.  Shit is shit, internet friend.  But if you are really upset about my opinion, here's a form you can fill out:

   Here is yet another waste of a post.  Again, you did not at all explain what you disliked about Riverdale.  It seems rather odd that you decry the moral breakdown of modern American society  in other threads and yet make posts like this.  I think we may be on to an Archie Comics Renaissance here.  That would be good no matter what happened in the show.  You could think of it like when the 3 Stooges reformed in 1959, although there was little (if anything) of artistic value after Shemp died in 1955.  Actually, I think this Riverdale Show could turn out to be quite good.

Let's get something straight, grandpa, I've never made a waste of a post.   I'm an interwebs goddess.  Everything I post instantly becomes a meme.  I'm the Meme Queen so to speak.  So you can start by showing e-royalty the respect she deserves.  Second, I already explained what I disliked about Riverdale.  It's shit.  I tend to not enjoy being in the presence of or looking at shit, so of course Riverdale is no different.

I never did that, although, I'm not sure what the voices in your head told you.

B-ko is that you? Why so negative? Why not post about something you like?

B-ko from Project A-ko, the anime?  No, I'm Alexandra Cabot, can't you read? Also this thread was asking a question.  I responded with an answer (that Riverdale is shit, SHIT, SHIIIIIIIIIIIT).  I'm not responsible for any butt pain that results from my words of truth.  You may want to consult a doctor though if you experience that.  It could be something worse.

The numbers for February's direct sales figures are out. Here's how Archie is doing:

Archie #17 = 11K

This number held from the preceding issue but down from the 13K the title had been at a couple of months back. I've mentioned before that January is a notoriously bad month for publishing in general. I'd wondered if the dip in this title's sales was due to the usual January publishing doldrums or part of an overall gradual decline. I'm still not convinced one way or the other. Has "Reboot Fatigue" set in? How does this title refresh itself and attract new readers?

Jughead #13 = 6K

This number is also being held from the preceding issue. This book HAS to be in trouble. The pre-reboot Jughead sold about 1.5 K when it was cancelled. Keep in mind the current creative team is paid significantly more than the pre-reboot crew. This book is also currently bolstered by THREE variant covers (Another expense!) a month! Taking those factors into consideration, this book is probably drifting very close to where its predecessor was in terms of profitability. The preceding Jughead title was published by the previous regime of Archie Comics out of pride and stubbornness. They believed Archie Comics should ALWAYS publish a Jughead title. They also published the thirty-two page books even at a loss because they provided fresh material that would later be funneled into the far, far more profitable digests. From their perspective, the digests paid for the thirty-two's.

Josie #4 = 6.5 K

This one suffered a heavy drop of about 2K from the preceding issue. Ouch! Bad, bad news for a title in its fourth issue. I expect this one to be retroactively declared a "mini-series" soon... or go on "hiatus."

These were the only Archie titles I could find on February's sales charts. Wow!

Wow, the Pussycats can't catch a break.  Pretty depressing considering this version is closer to the real Pussycats than Josie and the Affirmative Action Hires form Riverdale.

So how were the ratings? Are they still going down?

I don't know, but if they're going down, that means it's good.  The lowest common denominator isn't smart enough to like a show this great.

This show being smart or not trying to appeal to the lowest denominator.   :2funny:   Are you sure you're getting enough B12 in your vegan diet?

Feedback/Support / PHP for private messages is broken.
February 23, 2017, 06:41:34 PM
It can't handle imported text.  It shrinks it down to Veranda Font Size 1.  I'm pretty sure this has something to do with that portion of the code not being compliant with the newest version of PHP, which most web hosts were switched to sometime last year.

All About Archie / Re: Sonic Comics Officially Canceled?

Sonic Universe sold a little over 4K in January.

http://www.comichron.com/monthlycomicssales/2017/2017-01.html

In other Archie news...

Archie = 11K

This is a pretty big drop of about 2K from the previous issue. This book, Archie's only remaining monthly title, was averaging a loss of about 1K copies per month. Then it appeared to level off at about 13K for a couple of months. January is traditionally a bad month for publishing. This drop may be the January doldrums or perhaps an indication that some serious hemorrhaging is about to happen.

Jughead = 6K

This title has also been losing about 1K per month. At 6K, there's not much room for this one to go much lower.

Reggie = 5K

Ouch! It's clear now why this one was retro-actively declared to be a mini-series. This one will limp to its death at #5. There's a weird gap of a few months until #3. That's only going to hurt things even more!

Keep in mind these numbers are the books ORDERED by retailers and NOT the actual books SOLD to readers. Nationally, 11K copies of January's Archie issue may have been ordered by stores but that isn't necessarily the number of copies the stores actually sold. This is one of the reasons you see these numbers go lower with each issue. These days, however, stores tend to order pretty tightly. They usually order enough to cover their subscribers with a couple of extra copies for their stands. As the months go by, if the store starts to notice that those extra copies fail to move, they'll order less and less.

Good info!  I wonder how the other Sonic titles are/were doing.

Betty & Veronica #3 along with some other titles (like Sabrina & Afterlife) have been pushed back so often you wonder if they have been 'de facto' cancelled (left to die on the vine). :-\

Like I said, love the comics & artists (except Erica), hate the assholes running it (into the ground).

Archie doesn't announce cancellations (which I honestly thinks has the reverse intended consequence for their PR).  So we have to read the tea leaves I guess.  That's what happened with Betty, Kevin Keller, New Crusaders, etc.  I think those two titles are still up for subscription however.

All About Archie / Sonic Comics Officially Canceled?
February 22, 2017, 08:10:52 AM
Going to start a new thread.  The other one drifted off topic and some butt hurt fanboys want to bury what I was talking about, so I'll make a new one.

There was a rumor that Sonic comics were canceled due to subscriptions being pulled back in January.  The new solicitations for May just came out, and no Sonic comics were listed at all:

http://www.archiefans.com/news-and-new-releases/archie-comics-for-may-2017/msg9408/

They had multiple titles so this is a bit weird.  I want confirmation whether or not Sonic at Archie Comics is over.  I'm also curious as to why.  My guess would be Sega did not re-new the license and the comics aren't being axed by Archie due to poor sales.

Stop being so darn negative. :crazy2:

So Sonic Comics getting canceled is a good thing, and I'm not allowed to talk about it?  How about you stop being a brown noser?

So no Sonic comics in May solicitations:

Doesn't look good imo.   :(
