Hey Tuxedo Mark, just wanted to let you know I do read your reviews.  I rarely watch the animated stuff, but I do like seeing the screen shots and hearing your comments. Thanks for keeping your review page going all this time.  :)

Thanks for reading! :)

Now that I think about it, the whole Adam Hughes' B&V thing has been pretty disastrous for the company. ... what B&V contributed to the company was 3 issues that took an entire year to come out. That is bad. ... Get a stable creative team that will commit to the title for at least 12 issues, and can deliver pages on time every 6 weeks, or less.

This has me wondering why writers and/or artists can get away with slow work in the first place. Shouldn't it be built into their contracts: "You will provide the script and/or artwork on this schedule, or the contract is terminated"?

In the context of cartoon reality, it's funny...when Archie is oblivious to anyone's feelings but his own

Not sure why this would be considered funny. I'm currently re-watching an episode of "Archie's Weird Mysteries" where Archie is obsessed with his car and not really paying attention to the girls. The girls are offended but just kinda take it, and they sigh in frustration. I keep thinking "Quiet DUMP the idiot! He's not gonna notice your lack of presence in his life anyway!"

I decided to do a bonus post - an essay about the value and expected life of the monthly (floppy) comic book.

"Toni Topaz is a character who was added on a little more recently in the comic books and she's always been very, very vivacious, exciting and a bit of a disrupter."

Yeah in all of two stories and the gazillion covers she was on that didn't include her in a single panel. :)

She sometimes appears in panels in an I'm-here-too capacity - though those might or might not be stories in which she's included on the cover. But, yeah, my point is she makes a ton of pointless cameo appearances - as if someone at Archie Comics was yelling "Don't you dare let the readers forget her!"

Seriously, though, how many actual Toni Topaz stories have there been?

And yet Archie Comics still manages to hoodwink people into spending $3.99 for a comic book with 20 pages of story (that's 20 cents a page, in case nobody's doing the math).

I used to pay less than that when buying the floppies at TFAW, but then there was the shipping on top of that. I'd end up paying around $7 for a floppy issue. After November, I just quit buying comics.
