Also Fernando said something about how he had ghost written (used another name?) some stories for ACP after this one so we may see those eventually.

I ghost-wrote those scripts for another Archie comics writer-artist. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out who that is! I think they might be close to coming out very soon.

Archie Comics, of course, now hates me because unlike Dan DeCarlo and Stan Goldberg, after they drove me out, I didn't conveniently drop dead. In a very petty move, they said I could no longer ghost-write for them anymore.

They have a horrible, horrible reputation for their treatment of their talent. Trust me. Every bit of it is deserved.
Wow, that sucks. I figured Mark Waid was right when he said that Archie mistreated everybody (his specific complaint was that they paid people very little while sucking up all of the profits of the company for themselves)... but he neglected to mention that they're STILL doing it.

We still totally need Archie Comics: The Untold Story- a huge collection of the history of the company, written by a third party and taking viewpoints from EVERYBODY. Alas, so many of the old names are deceased at this point. But it'd still be more accurate than that one from a couple years ago, where the company's co-founder was apparently a giant ladies' man who ALWAYS had two girls fighting over him, just so that he could lay a claim over Bob Montana's :) .
I can see an Archie Comics lawsuit if someone ever did attempt to write this. They're VERY protective of their reputation...

Classic J/V feud cover:

The thing that really stands out about this cover is how Reggie's reacting. Why should he care? I figured he'd be smirking at the show...

characters costumes tend to evolve over time and Harley Quinn's Original costume doesn't lend itself well to Live Action...plus the jester costume just comes off as a bit too goofy now a days

Yes. And I tend to lose interest when they change things about a character that were part of that character's initial attraction for me. It sucks that there's no longer any room for the "comic" in comic books.  They were more entertaining when they took themselves less seriously.

I'm not saying that but if everything stayed the same we'd get bored eventually....this is a character that wasn't even meant to last and the only reason her comic book took off like it did is because they didn't stick so close to the animated series where she was nothing more than the joker's goofy sidekick

they took chances with her and obviously it paid off

I suppose I seem to imply that I'm singling the character of Harley out as an example of the bad sort of change in comics. That really isn't particularly the case, as in this specific example it's DC Comics in general that's gone off the rails. I just can't seem to enjoy any of that company's mainstream universe titles the way I once did about a decade ago. I guess Batman and Harley were really the only things left that were selling, which is why all the "rebirthing" is happening all over again -- DC's sales across the board having plunged drastically since the rebooted "New 52" of five years ago. That tends to make Harley Quinn look like more of a success than she really is, when really all we're talking about is less of a failure, in relative terms.
All of this rebooting (Marvel included) has gotten on my nerves. Because of their desire to increase sales, they keep reinventing their characters every few years or so. I'd wish they'd settle with one origin, and leave it at that...

Once and for all , is the balance of the Archie digests , in general ~ Or , HAS it been , since I get the impression that , in my absence , something has gone a little rotten in Mamaroneck business-wise !!!!!!!!!!! Has it , up until Donald Trump threw his hairpiece in the ring ;D , say , the recent past ~ Have the Archie digests generally had (1) The first story and (2) the last story being new ones ?
Plus maybe some other full-fleged stories , and some filllers/gags of some kind .
What has the general balance/placing of new against old material in the digests been ?

Since the middle of 2014, the first (a.k.a. "lead") story in every digest has been new. The last few months of solicitations for forthcoming ACP products have contained a number solicitation descriptions for digests in which the "lead stories" have NOT been described as "new", but instead "fun", "entertaining", "exciting", etc. which leads me to believe that there is no longer any guarantee that each digest will contain a new story. I suspect they are just keeping Dan Parent employed for as long as it takes to use up the inventory of already-purchased scripts.
You don't think they'll eventually get rid of Mr. Parent after getting enough scripts written and drawn, do you?

Overexposure, perhaps...?

Okay, why does this reboot comic NOT look like the TV show, or more importantly, the TV show NOT look like the reboot comic?? Will somebody please explain this to me?? Maybe the writers/artists didn't get the memo, I say sarcastically...

Cool. I remember this...

Go to Media->my Media->My Albums and once in your album pick Delete Album from the right column.
Done! Thanks very much! I hope you'll look at the story I submitted! Like I said, it's a doozy! :)

All About Archie / How Do I Delete An Album?

Got two too many, and I have three accidently up. One has the story I wanted, and it's a doozy to me (and hopefully you), which I obviously want to keep. The other two I want to get rid of. Thanks in advance...

Great story. It's amazing that pantomime can say so much without saying anything. :2funny: I think DeCarlo did this, right? Harry Lucey also could draw pantomime, probably better than any other Archie artist. I guess someone "wrote" this too. I wonder if it was Frank Doyle? ???

Eh. I just prefer Archie in the modern world, no matter what his age is. :) To me, he just looks out of place anywhere else, be it with dinosaurs, flying cars, or dragons. Whatever floats your boat...

All About Archie / Re: Archie The Fink

But, just wondering: Doesn't Betty and Ronica enable Archie to do his dirt by quite frankly overlooking his behavior as they continue to forgive his transgressions? Plus, Ronica cheats as much on Archie as he does her. I've always suspected that Betty would drop any boy she was going with in a New York Second if Archie suddenly asked her to go steady. I think Betty only goes out with other boys because she eventually believes Archie will someday come to his senses and see she's the only girl for him, and then she'll quit them. In the meantime, Betty refuses to be a girl that hopelessly pines for Archie by waiting by the phone while missing out on dating boys. What do you guys think?

I liked the original title. It was quite apt.  ;D

I just saw this thread and I'm disappointed I didn't join in the fun sooner.

It shouldn't be too hard to find panels of Archie being a clod.

I'd preferred "Wish Goon". And I wondered what Betty would have wished for came true if it had broken her way, like, oh, Archie with a ring and a marriage proposal? :2funny:
