    November 13, 2017, 03:44:17 AM
  • DeCarlo Rules: I thought the ad money was only a piece of the webcomics big picture, with the other pieces being commission work and print collections of past webcomics, and word-of-mouth that leads to paying assignments from established publishers. It seems like Gisele just has too much talent to stay out of the game for long, and if nothing else, minus the expenses of hosting and time spent creating webcomics, she ought to be able to make a living just doing covers (which pay better than interior pages), if nothing else.

  • irishmoxie: Apparently the ad money for webcomics couldn't pay her living expenses anymore.

  • DeCarlo Rules: Aw, dang. I hope Gisele gets a regular print comic series going. Hopefully that's the only reason she's quitting webcomics.

  • DeCarlo Rules: The Archie Annuals actually ran from 1950 to 1975 (after that they continued as digests). Does ComiXology have all 26 of the comic book-sized Annuals?

  • Tuxedo Mark: Veronica cosplay: [link]
    November 07, 2017, 12:26:57 PM
  • DeCarlo Rules: I hope they continue reprinting those Jughead stories from the early 2nd series issues (late 1980s) in World of Archie digest. Maybe not, because that was a special Time Police section, but I can always hope. Loverboy Jughead, Skatepunk Jughead, Snax Headjug. The weirder the better.
    November 06, 2017, 09:29:09 AM
  • Jabroniville: The next issue was a pretty great one- Jughead swears off girls by writing songs about how awful women are, which makes the girls at the shows fall in LOVE with him. Eventually, Betty & Ronnie refuse to play another sexist number, and he's finally consoled by ETHEL of all people (who really got the short end of the stick with the Debbie/Joani arc).
    November 06, 2017, 03:58:39 AM
  • DeCarlo Rules: The way that I figure it is that January was a Time Marshall, and Jughead was a mere Deputy, so he probably didn't have the clearance level or Need To Know status for her to tell his about the multiverse. Although he could presumably have figured it out on his own, based on some of the Time Police missions he was involved in.

Okay, I'm supposed to believe that Kevin Keller cannot find another guy in Rivedale? Look at Riverdale! It's liberal city!!! You have every minority, drugs, relationships on various age levels! Do you know how many characters have pulled a reverse Michael Jackson?  And he has to go to the wood and no...I don't know what he does in the woods. I don't want to know what he does in the woods. Oh, and excuse Betty for not wanting you to go out at night when there's a killer about. Like, int he general area where Moose and Midge were shot at!!!

Like I mentioned before, I think this show is being written by Republicans.

Here are some random thoughts on the episodes:

Pussycat beatdown was awesome!

Madelaine Petsch is the best actor on this series, and Cheryl Blossom is the best character ever!

Cheryl ends up doing Betty a solid, even though her "dear cousin" had originally come to her house under the pretext of concern for her well-being (which Cheryl saw through).

The scenes between Cheryl and her mom were very good. In particular, the first one was heartbreaking. Sad Cheryl makes me cry.

Yay for Cheryl in short shorts. More, please.

Cheryl being high on Jingle Jangle was pretty funny.

So Veronica saves Cheryl from being raped, and Cheryl helps Betty out with some snooping. I think these three ladies are gonna become besties.

Still sick but getting better. I went into work yesterday sounding like a horse but i still had to be a cashier because it was me and only one other person as a cashier.

I helped my dad paint a bit today. We finished it was a small wall.

I hope that Best of Betty and Veronica Vol 2 trade really happens this time, though.

Yeah, me too. It seems like lately they are catching up and managing to get those old cancelled trade collections printed after all (look how long it took for THE COMPLETE SABRINA) so hopefully they can keep it up.

Here's a "not final" cover image from a 'previously solicited but later cancelled' offering (unfortunately I couldn't find an exact release date on this one) of that same proposed title:

This wouldn't be a bad time to review a number of the remaining 'previously solicited but later cancelled' offerings, so here's some of the ones that still haven't made it to print so far:

Another B&V TPB collection, previously solicited for a December 24, 2014 shipping date and later cancelled:

This one was intended as a hardcover collection reprinting the first six issues of ARCHIE'S GIRLS BETTY AND VERONICA (I don't have the intended release date):

Previously solicited for a January 20, 2016 shipping date and later cancelled:

This B&V TPB collection would have been in the form of a flip-book (with two "front covers" upside-down relative to each other), intended for a March 30, 2016 shipping date but later cancelled:

Two previous solicitations for KEVIN KELLER TPB collections that would have compiled the remainder of the existing published single issues:

Maybe we'll finally get to see those after the LIFE WITH KEVIN TPB collection of digital issues #1-4 sees print?

And finally a few Red Circle superhero/adventure series TPB collections solicited then cancelled that still haven't been resolicited:

The second Fox miniseries, THE FOX: FOX HUNT by Dean Haspiel and Mark Waid:

NEW CRUSADERS: DARK TOMORROW, a trade compilation from a miniseries completed (but never published as single issues) as a follow-up to NEW CRUSADERS: RISE OF THE HEROES:

And finally, a TPB collection of Tom DeFalco & Greg Scott's SAM HILL, PRIVATE EYE, which was released as a digital exclusive, but not as solicited for trade paperback:

Still no Chilling Adventures of Sabrina or Afterlife With Archie (aside from a trade collection).

I hope that Best of Betty and Veronica Vol 2 trade really happens this time, though.

Today is not a good day. First i called out of work because i am sick. I am sneezing, coughing, sniffling, got a headache and sore throat. My manager decided to be mean and she thinks i am screwing her over because we have a visitor tomorrow so she robably wants the most people in to clean. I would of hoped she rather not want me in sick coughing all over the place. But it is whatever. I got a doctors note to bring in. So hopefully they believe me tomorrow. I got my proof.
