  • Steveinthecity: When Thor pulls the hammer back to throw, his momentum stops. He has always been able to float or hover once airborne, and he'll remain until the hammer comes back to him.  I guess the winds keep him aloft.

  • Jabroniville: Yeah, that's odd- Thor usually has the Hammer out in front. Though I don't think it's ever explained how he can throw it while in mid-flight and not just plummet like a goof. I wish artists would stop having him do things like that :)

  • Steveinthecity: @Biolante:  Thor uses the hammer to fly. He can throw his hammer during flight and float in one spot until the hammer returns to him. Don't know what Joe Q. was thinking there. I've never seen Thor fly on his own.

Is it just my imagination, or does Mrs. Jones' nose look rather...larger than normal?

Offline Gregg

maybe she has a cold.... :2funny:

I thought Henry's art on those two pages looked at little off, this just confirms it. The Jones nose is inherited from his dad's side of the family, not his mom's if memory serves...

Actually in older stories, Gladys Jones did have the long nose too.  But, sometime before she gave birth to Jellybean, she had a nose job, and it shrunk.

Now apparently, it has grown back.

Which leads to the question...is Gladys Jones a FILTHY LIAR?!?  LOL!!!

Yeah, the entire Jones family had the nose issue. I was a bit miffed when they made her look more "normal". What's the fun in the Jones family if they don't have that look?

I also remember when they toned down the nose issue with Ethel as well. It was a very PC period.

Offline AyaBlue

Maybe they toned down Mrs. Jones' nose to sort of make her normal nosed baby more plausible. Scandal would be afoot otherwise!!

It seems Archie Comics has abandoned the old Cheryl Blossom logo. That's a shame. It was pretty.

I was going through the Jughead DD today and noticed an advertisement for an Archie title. It was near the beginning of the digest and I don't recall what it was for offhand, but it said to send in money and "recieve" the next issue. How does "recieve" get past the copy writers?

Offline Tuxedo Mark

How does "recieve" get past the copy writers?

The same way that "Your welcome" and other such errors do.

I wouldn't be surprised to find instances of "should of" and such.

Archie Editorial needs to get a better handle on things like that. It makes them look bad. I know I get miffed when I read comics where the word balloons are coming from the wrong person, but I really dislike it when simple spelling get messed up.
