Poll
Question:
Does Riverdale suck more than the power of a thousand vacuum cleaners?
Option 1: Yes, it does suck more than the power of a thousand vacuum cleaners. It's a total bastardization of Archie Comics and everything it once stood for. It should be wiped off the face of the earth.

Option 2: No, it does not suck more than the power of a thousand vacuum cleners. It is not a total bastardization of Archie Comics and everything it once stood for. It should not be wiped off the face of the earth.

Well, there's been a lot of discussion about Riverdale and whether or not it is a cancer on television and the Archie Comics brand. So let's settle this democratically through a poll!
2 to 1 so far. Bad news for people who don't think Riverdale sucks like a legion of vacuum cleaners. ;D
A few thoughts on Riverdale...
1. The show appears to hover around a million live viewers each week. The premiere drew an audience of just above a million viewers with something like 1.3 million viewers. It hasn't reached that number again. This isn't a big audience but its just enough by the CW's low standards. As I've often said, the biggest break this show ever caught was when Fox passed it up. Had Fox scheduled it, the trigger-happy network surely would've cancelled it by now.
2. The last two weeks, the show failed to crack a million viewers with an audience of about 0.9 million. This was after a hiatus of about two or three weeks. Did this hiatus trip up the show's momentum? Was the audience so minimally invested in the show that they haven't bothered to return after the hiatus?
3. The show seems to do well on Netflix and with dvr viewers.
4. What will the show mean for the comics? Will the show draw new readers to the books? Right now it doesn't appear that this is happening. All of Archie's titles appear to be shedding readers every month with titles like Josie, Reggie & Me and even Jughead plummeting to dangerous thresholds.
The lack of viewers is a problem but there is already going to be a season 2 and that will most likely be the last one.
I love the show. It's a blast. I look forward to it all week and watch each episode multiple times because I don't catch everything in the first viewing.
I had high expectations for the show and it has exceeded every one.
I think the cast genuinely likes each other and it helps in the performances.
^ Let's hope the second season will be the last one!
That show is so bad and so frickin depressing. Archie comics are supposed to put you in a good mood. They are simple, funny comics. This show takes itself way too seriously and it's so dark for no good reason.

If you think this show takes itself seriously, you obviously haven't really watched it. The reason it's hilarious is it's clear the creators are laughing the whole time. It's so over the top it's impossible to take literally and I can't imagine many people do.
I enjoy "Riverdale". Yeah, it gets dark (more so than the comics), but there's also plenty of humor. I especially laugh at a lot of Cheryl's lines.
Also, the Blossoms made their fortune by building a maple syrup empire. A Maple. Syrup. Empire. And they have an annual tree-tapping ceremony (as YouTuber Andre calls it, "white-people $#|t"). The creators are clearly having fun with the concept and don't take it too seriously.
Also, anyone notice episode 11 is called "To Riverdale and Back Again"? Sounds like the perfect opportunity for some cameos!
