  • DeCarlo Rules: It seems like they put extras on a disc because people expect them, or it helps drive sales, but more often than not, it seems like very little thought goes into the content. Of course there are some examples where the extras are exceptional, but usually that's not the case.

  • irishmoxie: I love digital movies and streaming. I usually get the Blu-ray Disc because I like to watch the extras the first time and then end up adding the digital code online or rip it and put it on the hard drive. Just much more convenient to stream it then search for the disc when I want to watch it.

  • DeCarlo Rules: On the other hand, maybe I should just bypass the Blu-Ray format altogether, buy a huge terabyte HD, and download everything. There's something to be said for that, in that you can get everything quicker and stacks of Blu-Ray cases aren't taking up space in your house, I guess.

With Classic Archie (even new Classic Archie), I find myself often asking "Why is this even an issue?" or "Why would the teen characters even care about this?" With Riverdale, it's absolutely insane bonkers, but everyone involved is in on the joke, so it's fun to just sit back, shut off my brain, and enjoy. :)

List of Known Birthdays?
« on: May 01, 2018, 03:16:51 pm »
Hi All,

I'm trying to hunt around for known birthdays for any Archie/Sabrina comic character. Does anyone know of a compiled list?  I found something several months ago that I can't find again that Archie is born sometime in February?

Otherwise, it's a one by one search about 4 or 5 various sites.

Sometimes there can be conflicts (which is fine) like Sabrina The Teenage Witch vs Sabrina the Comic Character:

http://sabrinatheteenagewitch.wikia.com/wiki/Sabrina_Spellman has March 29,
https://comicvine.gamespot.com/sabrina-spellman/4005-1722/ has Sept. 27

The Sabrina Wikia goes into detail in trying to determine her birthday (four different dates are listed!), and it concludes it's on September 2 based on the start of the school year in that area in 1996. (The Sabrina live-action series is horribly inconsistent in general, such as having Sabrina being unfamiliar with Salem, MA, in season 1 but later establishing it as her home town.)

I got this list from somewhere back in early 2010 (it's listed as the date followed by the character):

February 7

Jughead

March 19

Veronica

March 30

Geraldine Grundy

April 5

Waldo Weatherbee

April 7

Benjamin Flutesnoot

April 27

Hiram Lodge

May 3

Nancy

May 8

Hermione Lodge

June 8

Chuck

June 10

Fred Andrews

June 21

Mr. Svenson

June 29

Betty

July 4

Midge

July 20

Moose

July 25

Reggie

August 18

Terry "Pop" Tate

September 1

Ms. Beazly

September 21

Dilton

December 3

Mary Andrews

December 7

Thanks for sharing this. Is there a link to the sources? I'm curious how this was derived. I'm also curious about the competing plausible theories for different dates.

I don't know where I got it from. It's currently in a text file on my hard drive. I'm guessing I got them off the official Archie Comics site back then. They'd changed it a lot over the years, so it's possible that these birthdays were listed in individual character profiles or even on a page that no longer exists.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that these birthdays came from character profiles on the official Archie site. I just looked at an old file on my hard drive, and I'd noted this:

This information comes from the official Archie Comics website as of Friday, May 26, 2006:

Name: Betty Cooper
First Appearance: Pep Comics #22 (1941)
Age: 17
Height: 5'6
Weight: 120
Hair: Blonde
Birthday: June 29 (Cancer)
