DeCarlo Rules: I think you can take it as a given that there's no happy ending to Afterlife With Archie, and there's no real conclusion short of "everyone dies". The good guys do not win.; there is no cure for zombies.

Am I the only one having problems with text size?

When I try to cut and paste something from another site and post it here it gets shrunk to tiny size, sometimes my text seems to shrink for other reasons too. This isn't that important and I know it might be hard to fix so I'm not complaining, I'm just glad to have the board back but I want to know if it's my laptop or something about the site.

Nope. It's SUPER-annoying, too. But you CAN fix it afterwards by modifying the post, highlighting the affected text, and re-sizing the font size to 10pt, and then removing the 'size' HTML code in brackets.

I've got an even worse one now. Twice now I've started typing some substantially-long posts, and an errant keystroke somewhere caused me to leave the page with the "post reply" message box and back up a page. When I hit the forward button to return to the page I was on with the Post Reply message box, the entire text that I'd typed earlier was just GONE.

Thanks De! The second one sucks, didn't it happen on the old board too though?

Nope. Back on the older iteration of SMF, you could navigate backward and forward between HTML pages using the arrow buttons, and your uncommitted/unposted text would still be there when you returned in the opposite direction, as long as you were careful not to click on another link in-between.

It's the whole "WYSIWYG" thing — the text is changed to graphics before being displayed, so there's nothing to cache when you leave the page — and personally I hate it even when just trying to type normally it's a major pain  >:( You can't see what you're really doing, and have to fight with it to get it to display properly, and it only works half the time anyway, which is why a "Preview" button is still necessary. And it's much worse if you have to  try to use it from a portable device ...

While some people may find it adequate or even helpful, we should have an option (in profile perhaps) to use the text BBCode.

You can disable the WYSIWYG feature in your profile. Go to your profile then go to Modify Profile -> Look and Layout and uncheck the "Show WYSIWYG editor on post page by default" box.

It's happened to me too several times. It's annoying.

I was wondering about this! Thanks!
