How the reporters get paid depends, I guess, on whether they are 'work-for-hire' employees, freelancers, or whether they are being paid piece-rate, by the story. They may or may not be entitled to any additional payment if the story they reported gets printed more than once in two different versions of the paper, but I suspect not. I'm sure union agreements govern all those aspects of the business. In either case, it wouldn't seem to make all that much difference, since any actual work they did would involve them being paid for it (salaried, hourly, or per-story), and again, I'm sure union agreements outline these things.

I don't know what you're seeing on your tablet when you're composing, but the above quote is an example of what we're seeing.

I decided to take  glance at this thread and beside the fact of seeing the same thing from the one persons posts with all the additional characters making it difficult to understand some of their posts I'd like to add something. If news occurs it is going to be reported. The bottom line is if the specific Newspaper finishes printing the entire paper and is ready to distribute it and something occurs they aren't going to scrap all those printed newspapers to just add an additional piece of news. If that was the case the papers would never be delivered because news is occurring all the time. That particular piece of news is just put onto a later edition of the paper or onto the next days paper. It is not like the Internet or Television where it can instantly go live. As for the Saturday daily paper and Sunday Paper what I remember as when my Mom got the Sunday Early Paper which always seemed to arrive by Saturday evening it was basically Saturdays news with all the coupons and ads and magazines and comics in it. My Mom basically got that paper for the coupons back then so to her I guess it didn't matter what the rest of the content was.
