I had a crush on her when I was a kid.
First TV/movies person I ever crushed on.
I was 4 or 5.
Goodnight, Laura. :'(

I haven't read anything from Dick van Dyke yet. I wonder what he'll say...
...I,ll say that she timed her passing : like a true star : - she didn,t get caught up in that rush at the end of year of celebrities dying then !!!!!!!!!! :D :crazy2: :uglystupid2: 8)
(Though for someone comparable , it,s possible hat I might have more affection for Debbie Reynolds anywat - at last against the MTM Show , which I sort of got overexposed to back in its original run (My mother lved it) , back in the 70s . :smiley6600: :(
My first exposure was The Mary Tyler Moore Show and she quickly became my favorite actress/comedienne. It's wonderful that she left a body of work that people can continue to visit and enjoy for years to come.
I think that show and her role meant a lot to the Women's movement taking place in the early 70's, as it showed a single career minded woman in a positive light, not beholden to the idea that she needed to get married and have children in order to be a "whole" person.
Laura Petrie was one of my first crushes. I still love that show.
I have never seen The Mary Tyler Moore Show(I *think* it's on MeTv late nights on Sundays, I might watch it some day), but I have seen a few episodes of The Dick Van Dyke Show and she was pretty cute. I liked her character.
Edit: I just saw that MeTV is going to air 6 MTMS episodes this Sunday afternoon. I'll be watching!
