Oldiesmann: Interesting to see they're bring Wilbur Wilkin back from the dead again. I remember them making a big deal of it when they suddenly decided he was Jughead's cousin years ago - only for him to vanish again, much like Jellybean

Tuxedo Mark: How absolutely pathetic. Five items, three of which are entirely reprints. Only two new 5-page stories for the entire month. Only two of the four "main" digests. And the story in the girls' digest features Bingo and Pureheart.

Vegan Jughead

I just got my subscription copy of Your Pal Archie #2 in the mail.

It's great!  The first issue was just getting us warmed up.  If you haven't read YPA, do it!

Archie wins the lottery in this one and of course it's a mess.

The back up story (which is to be continued next issue) is about Reggie getting what looks like a concussion playing football and it changes his behavior some would say for the better.

Ty Templeton's dialogue is funny and Dan's art, as always, is top notch.

I'm hoping this thing gets extended beyond 5 issues or at least they use a similar idea on different characters.

In the world of Archie Comics, concussions are always cause for hilarity ensuing.  ;D

I liked #1, if only for the reason of getting some new classic Archie stories again, and longer ones. I think I liked the Jughead learning to drive story better than the first part of Archie wins the lottery, but whether it's because I've gotten past the redesigned looks now or whatever, I have to say I liked #2 overall a lot better, especially the conclusion of the 2-parter. Reggie getting amnesia from a bonk on the head sounds like a real throwback to the Doyle-Lucey kind of stories from the late-50s/early-60s, which is a good thing.

Still debating whether to drop $3.99 on this.

I subscribed so it's only like 2.50 a copy but I'd pay 3.99 otherwise.   But then, I love Dan Parent.  I wasn't familiar with Ty Templeton but I like his writing on this, especially the new issue.

I've stopped trusting Archie subscriptions. I subscribed to "Betty" and got one issue (the final one); my subscription was not transferred to "Betty & Veronica" (as was supposedly going to happen). I recently renewed my P.O. Box pretty much solely so I can receive the remaining issues in my AWA and CHAoS subscriptions. It's more of a hassle now than anything.

Oh that sucks Mark.  I haven't really had any problems.  A couple of missed issues in the last few years but they always replaced them quickly.

I think Reggie's faking it. He's up to a massive joke on everyone.... :)

You know him well... that's just the sort of thing Reggie would do. I hope it does turn out to be genuine amnesia, though, because it strikes me that the comical possibilities of that situation are far more interesting than if it turns out to be a mere prank.  ;D
